Blade & Soul - Thundergod (Jin Outfit) Mod

In this week's post, we'll be looking at another Jin outfit call "Thundergod". The mix of thunder and god automatically reminds me of a certain Marvel superhero but no, this is not the God of Thunder, Thor. The boss (Raijin) that drop this outfit is actually a machine (a.k.a. automaton), with lightning ability, that the long lost Naryu has created to guard the Naryu Labyrinth. This level 45 dungeon is really tough back in the days so the outfit isn't easily obtainable. But now with the increase in level cap, the dungeon can even be easily soloed by high level players. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope that it will drop for you.  😆

Raijin, which is an equivalent Japanese name for Thunder God, is paired up with Fujin, which is the equivalent of Wind God, to guard the last level of the Naryu Labyrinth. When players reach the last level of the dungeon, they will find Fujin waiting alone. Defeating Fujin will start a cut scene showing Raijin descending from the top and resurrecting Fujin. The player will then have to defeat both bosses together within a span of thirty seconds. Back then, this was a really tough challenge meant only for the brave.  😰

You can probably find many videos of warriors braving this dungeon on YouTube. But here's an image of Raijin and Fujin.

Fujin and Raijin (Image from Blade and Soul Zone)
The Thundergod outfit has a twin by the name of Windgod, obviously, and they look very similar to what the bosses wear. Their design is based on ancient illustration of the Thunder and Wind deities (or gods) in Chinese and Japanese mythology. The outfit also comes complete with an adornment call aura (those inverted 'U' shape things on the shoulders of the bosses in the image above) which matches the color of the pants.

The bosses' outfits are topless but that won't do for a female outfit, so the designer kind of painted the entire torso region of the players' version to a full black, like they have been charred due to being strike by lightning.  😓

Look at the original outfit below and decides for yourself.

Check out the full charcoal black torso...  😑

By the way that I have been describing about the torso, you can probably tell that I really hate the charcoal body. And so... I recolored the torso region and both arms to skin color. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about exposing the breasts because there are actually multiple spikes-like armor pieces all over the torso. As such, only the mid portion of the torso is exposed.

Take a look at the modified outfit below and you can understand what I mean.

Front View - Modified Outfit
Does it looks better now with the torso and arms back to skin color?  😄

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Thanks to the spiky armor pieces, I don't have to crack my head to find ways to conceal the breasts. 😆

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Although the lower part of this outfit looks rather bulky, it still fits pretty well given its slope design instead of sudden protrusion. Especially since it also hides the baggy pants which would otherwise looks...hmm... kind of 70's.  😅

Well, that's all for this simple mod. See more of the outfit in the video below.

Blade & Soul - Dazzle (Jin Outfit) Mod

As a closure for all the five outfits in my first mod video, we will touch on the "Dazzle" outfit in this week's post. While the previous four outfits are farmed from various Boss monsters in either dungeons or open world, the Dazzle is a 'limited time' outfit that NCWest sold on the online store for a certain number of days. It can be bought using NC coins that players can buy using real currency, or HM coins that players can buy, in game, using in-game currency (a.k.a. gold).

For now, this outfit is off market until NCWest decides to sell it again at a later date. This is what gives it the rarity that many fashionates desires. Hey! No one likes to be seen wearing the same thing as the person besides them, right?  😆

Dazzle is a full body outfit with a thin chain layer over a white tight fitting suit that hugs the skin layer. The upper torso contains some design that looks a little like sailor uniform and a shield can be seen hanging at the butt area. The outfit also has a pair of leg guards, with a dragon face on each side of the thighs.

Check out the original version of this rare outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
The thin chain layer is not very obvious unless we get a really close look at it. But the darker areas on the arms and torso is the chain layer.

Rear View - Original Outfit
We can see the shield in the image above, hanging from the left shoulder and hiding the entire butt area.  😞

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
On the two images above, the dragon face can be clearly seen on the outer side of the thighs.

Do you find this outfit dazzling enough for you?  😄

For the mod, I take advantage of the tight fitting suit once again and recolor the whole layer to skin color. In addition, I removed the thin chain layer and a portion of the shield. The resulting outfit looks a little similar to the Enchanting Seductress, that I mod earlier, except for the leg guards.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As you can see, the white layer, on the arms and torso, is now replaced with skin color and the thin chain layer is gone.    😅

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Well... Since the sides and arms are repainted to skin color, why not do the same for the center portion...  😛

Then, I notice the cleavage area looks a bit weird due to the mesh not having an upward curve at the center. It was fine in the original outfit since it was a cloth area; but as a skin layer, it doesn't feels right... But I'm just too lazy to go back and change it... 😧

Rear View - Modified Outfit
Oh... Over at the top image, you can see that the center portion of the shield has been removed because I hate how it blocks the butt area.  😥

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Sharp eyes viewers will probably wonder about that thin line at the side of the breasts. Well... There is a discontinuity between the side of the breasts and the torso, so I need to draw something there to hide the discontinuity.  😥

That's all for the mod. You can check out the above-mentioned video and keep a look out at the thirty second mark to see the outfit.

Updated with video below.  😄

Blade & Soul - Profane Shroud (Jin Outfit) Mod

Following Wolfskin on last week's post, this week we shall see another outfit, Profane Shroud, in the video. This outfit can be obtained by spinning the Wheel of Fate at the Orchard of Souls near Highland Necropolis, and the token, Profane Jianghi's essence, is dropped off the field boss Profane Jiangshi.

As a little information on the Jiangshi, it is the undead vampire equivalent in Chinese mythology. These blood suckers mostly appear wearing ancient China Qing dynasty official robe with a yellow talisman, in red letters, pasted on their foreheads. They moved about in the night and hop around on both legs with hand raised perpendicularly to their body.

The talisman is supposed to put them in a dormant state and they will follow the command of the priest who place the talisman on their heads. If the talisman is removed, they will run or rather 'hop' havoc and bite any living human they see.

It is believe that these mythical Jiangshi got their appearance and movement from the ancient trade of body transporters in ancient China. In the times when roads do not readily exist between villages and cities, these corpse transporters would tie the hands of the decease on 2 horizontal bamboos or wood, leaving the body vertical. In this way, they can transport multiple corpses at the same time. The two transporters would be shouldering the front and end of the bamboos, with the corpses in between them. Thus, as they went on their way, the corpses in the middle would look as if they are 'jumping' with hand at right angle.

In Blade & Soul, the Jiangshi are created just like those in the Chinese mythology and the Profane Jiangshi is the largest and most ferocious of them all. The Profane Jiangshi is a creation of the Tyrian Cultists who are trying to resurrect their fallen leader through the use of incantation and body parts of an infamous necromancer, Nekuro. The end result is a mindless and deadly monster that the cultists have to keep sealed away.

The Profane Jinagshi is normally sealed away in a standing tombstone, guarded by five Tyrian Cult's Barrier Guardians. When these guardians are defeated, they will each drop a core that can be used to release a portion of the seal. When all seals are removed, the Profane Jiangshi breaks free!   😱

Take a look at the Profane Jiangshi below. It has a huge mouth in the middle of its stomach. 😱

Sealed Tombstone

A Barrier Guardian

Profane Jiangshi breaks free!
The Profane Shroud consists of a shroud over the front of a tight fitting suit, monstrous leg guards and red spine that extends into a tail. The adornments that come with this outfit includes a headpiece and a talisman that attaches to the character's forehead. Check out the outfit below without the adornments.

Front View - Original Outfit
Do you agree that leg guards look really scary?    😓

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit

Rear View - Original Outfit
That red spine is a bit creepy and it kind of reminds me of the creepy crawlers from the "Alien" movies...  😱

Side View - Original Outfit
The tight fitting suit is basically the skin layer given a slightly different color and texture. You can tell by how the body shape is clearly distinctive.   😮

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
For the mod, I take the opportunity of the tight fitting suit, that is basically the skin layer, and repaint it to skin color/texture. So, it mainly becomes a shroud over the naked body. Well.. Just repainting to skin color isn't fun, so I cut the shroud into two small pieces and paint them into talisman, using them as bikini top.  😛

The outfit's bottom has a black piece covering the crotch so I extend two 'strings' to make it a bikini bottom.  😅

Check out the mod outfit below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
Well... the huge piece of cloth at the front is now reduced to two tiny pieces for the bikini top.  😅  Just giving the two pieces plain color is... hmm... just plain... So, I paint them into yellow talismans.

A Jiangshi outfit is just not complete without talisman, right?  😛

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
We can also see the two strings that I painted on to make it looks like a bikini bottom.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
You may have also notice the two strings dangling below the bikini top. The reason why I did that is because the mesh for the shroud exists only at the front, and if I want to draw strings for the bra, that runs to the back, they need to be painted onto the skin itself. This would cause the strings to be one layer below the bra, which will look weird without a direct connection.

So, I just draw the strings on the existing mesh and makes it looks like they are not tied up at the back... Well... plenty of sunbathers also leave their bra strings untied, right?  😛

To see the Profane Shroud in the video mentioned above, keep a sharp eye at 00:10:28. You may see some differences between the outfit in the video and here because I did a little changes such as adding the 'strings' and enlarging the talisman bra...

You can also check out the video below for the updated mod.

Blade & Soul - Wolfskin (Jin Outfit) mod

Looking back at a video that I had posted way back in June, which shows five of the skin mods that I have done for Jin race, and realised that there are still three outfit mods that I have not shown in greater details. So far, I have shown Enchanting Seductress and Blackram Officer but still missing on Wolfskin, Dazzle and Profane Shroud. Since, I did say that I will show them in greater details, I figure that I should keep to my words and so, this week's post will be Wolfskin for the Jin race.

If you have been following all my posts, you will probably know that I had also mod the Wolfskin outfit for Yun race. Although the outfit for both Jin and Yun looks very similar, there is still inherent differences in the mesh, like I had said before in previous posts. And in this mod, you can probably get a better idea of what it means by difference in mesh.

Original Jin Wolfskin                             Original Yun Wolfskin
If we take a look at the two outfits above, we can notice the difference, mainly in color and the additional covers on the Yun's arm and chest. But as you will see later, the mesh for the Jin race also allows more freedom for mod. But first, let's check out the Jin original outfit.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
I can't think of a reason why the Jin's chest area is exposed but the Yun's one is covered. Hmmm... Likely by design... Or maybe the designer is not satisfied with how the chest looks?  😕

Rear View - Original Outfit

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The Wolfskin outfit comes with a bloom or gloom with bulky skirts for both races.  😑

For the mod, I mainly trimmed the skirt and in this comparison image below, you will notice that the skirt portion for the Jin can be totally removed. The mesh at the waist area exists for Jin, while missing from the Yun's and that is why I cannot totally remove the skirt for the Yun race. Another noticeable difference is the side of the breasts. What I did for the Jin's bra area cannot be done for Yun because what lies underneath is a hole. Forcibly painting the bra to skin will create a 'floating' skin layer.  😧

Modified Jin Wolfskin                        Modified Yun Wolfskin
Now, let us look more closely at the Jin modified outfit below.

Front View - Modified Outfit

Front Close-up View 1 - Modified Outfit
Hmmm... Not sure how that bra can work in real life... But this is a game and it sticks like super glue.  😛

Rear View - Modified Outfit
Does anyone else feels that the rear view looks like some kind of lingerie?

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Well... The bottom looks a little too skimpy but I really dislike that bulky skirt so I removed it anyway...   😰

That'll wrap up this post and if you want to catch the outfit in the above mentioned video, it is at around 00:50:38 point.

You can also catch this outfit in my new video below.

Blade & Soul - Ashes In The Fall (Yun Outfit) Mod

For the past one week, I have been busy sorting through my videos and planning for the video series of Jinsoyun's story that I do not have enough time to write for the mod that I did. On top of that, there are storylines that I also need to catch up on (to get the required cinematics) to complete the series.😣

With most things falling in place now, I finally got some time to get this post done. 😥  So for this week's mod, let's take a look at the Yun outfit, Ashes in the Fall. If you find the outfit's name familiar, that is because I have done a mod on the same outfit before, but for the Jin race. The outfit has two variations, red or white shirt with black pants. Player gets to choose one upon completion of the quest line and can buy the other from NPC if they want to.

Since I had done the red one for Jin, this time round, I choose to mod the white one for Yun. Although the outfit for Yun, Jin and Gon looks quite similar, it doesn't mean that I get to copy everything and just paste them over. That is due to inherent body shape/color differences (by design) for the races. As such, I get to re-do most of the mod again.  😩

Let us check out the original outfit and see how similar it is to the Jin's version.

That tail looks so lovely as always. 😍

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
How similar is this outfit to the Jin's version? I'd say ninety-nine percent similar.  😆

But then again, the difference in body shape does causes the 3D mesh to varies by some degree. And of course, the same color used for Jin should not be applied to Yun (because Yun is much fairer as compared to Jin by default). For example, the player probably can adjust the skin color to their like but if the same color is chosen for both Jin and Yun, they will still notice that Yun is fairer with that same color applied.

Well... For the mod, I basically did the same thing as per the Jin version, as I don't want to feel that I have given better to one race, and then going back to mod the previous outfit again to match the new one. That will become a vicious cycle... 😧

So, once again, the pants become a bikini G-String with a tail! 😝

I also spent some time running around this sacred and secluded place where each character gets to visit only once in their life time. Got to capture the nice scenery if it's only once, right?

[Updated with video]  But you can also catch a glimpse of this outfit in the Jinsoyun's story video. 😃
