Blade & Soul - First Step (Yun Outfit) Mod

Rotating back to Yun mod this week, we have the First Step, which is one of the outfits that have different look on the three races. It has a chance to drop off the reward chest after defeating the final boss, Dokumo, in the Skittering Tunnels dungeon located in the Highland Necropolis, in the Moonwater Plains map. Although the name Dokumo sounds cuddly like those cute Japanese plushy toys, it is definitely nothing like that... In fact, this boss can be nightmarish for some players, especially if they have a phobia of spiders. 😖 Take that fear and multiply by a hundred fold to make a giant spider, which is what Dokumo is. 😱

I will not show Dokumo here incase she freaks people out. But if you are interested in what Dokumo or the dungeon looks like, you can visit Bladeandsoulzone to check out their dungeon guide here.

The Skittering Tunnels used to be one of the four major dungeons that give players access to the Blackram East Fleet Supply Chain open world dungeon. With the game's advancement, most players will now most likely skip it or even bypass it with a Level 50 creation ticket (except maybe for players with Gon female character, and we will see why later). But even though the dungeon has become obsolete, a marginally high level player with mid tier gear may still have difficulty soloing it. That is due to a mechanism where Dokumo become untargetable by pulling herself onto the ceiling, while spawning eggs that will hatch into baby spiders. All her babies will come crawling to the player while the mother spews  poison all over the place. 😱  If the player cannot take out the hatchlings fast enough to get Dokumo to come down, they will end up being a delicious meal for Dokumo and her babies. 😱

Well, guess that's enough for the scary stuff. Let us check out the outfit for the three races below.

Jin                                    Gon                                   Yun
The First Step outfit for the three races share the same color scheme and accessories, but the cutting and layout of the main design has significant differences.

For the Jin race, they can be seen spotting a pair of leg guards all the way up to the thighs, with a very short blouse, that reveals the front part of the panties, and a tail cloth that just sufficiently covers the butt.

As for Gon, the torso part of the outfit is without the right sleeve and has a tail cloth of knee length. As compared to the Jin's version, the leg guard and armor is only worn on the left leg, but over a pair of skin colored stockings. But the most striking part of the Gon outfit is probably that underboob design that shows a huge portion of the breasts (or is it a skin colored bra like the stockings?). 😲  Is this a good enough reason for players with Gon female character to farm this dungeon?  😂

The Yun's version is likely the most conservative of all. In addition to the same tail cloth and single sided leg guard design that is similar to the Gon's version, the Yun's version also sports a pair of darker shade stockings. And of course, no underboobs. 😆

Let us now take a closer look at the original Yun outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit

We can sneakily see the white panties over the dark stockings. 😆

Rear View - Original Outfit
The design of the tail cloth is similar to the Gon's version.

Right View - Original Outfit

Left View - Original Outfit
Hmm... So what can we do for the mod? The torso portion looks untouchable because the cloth does not follow the skin layer close enough. No cleavage because that area is just a flat piece of cloth, and no underboobs like the Gon's version because the cloth does not closely follows the curves of the breasts. 😥

The only area of the outfit that can be mod is the lower portion, which includes recoloring the stockings to skin color and trimming the tail cloth.

So, let us see how these two mods appear on the modified outfit below.

Front View - Modified Outfit

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Skin color now appears over where the dark stockings once were. 😄

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The tail cloth has been trimmed to sufficiently cover the G-string panties. Just for information, the G-string is the original panties. 😅

Left View - Modified Outfit

Right Close-up View - Modified Outfit
I also trimmed a piece of small cloth at the sides of the hips but they are blocked by the hand in the images above.

In the Specular (S) file, it can be seen that the skin areas are set to 100% opacity and I left them as it is. As such, the legs look glossy, like a pair of transparent stockings is worn over them. 😆

Well, that is all for this post. Watch the video, that is captured in the Lycandi Foothills, to get a better picture.

Blade & Soul - Red Specter (Gon Outfit) Mod

In the last four posts, we have seen two mods each for Jin and Yun, but none for Gon. Therefore, I decided to push a Gon request forward so we can share some love to the Gon players.  😅

For this mod, I had done the exact same modifications to both the Ivory Specter and Red Specter outfit as per the Jin and Yun mods. However, I will only focus on the Red Specter since they are very similar as seen in the Yun post.

I chose the Blackram Narrows dungeon for the video and screen shots because the Red Specter is obtained by defeating the Blackram pirates at the Sentinel Coast, neighboring the Narrows. The Blackram Narrows is the base for the Blackram South Fleet, which is headed by Admiral Chol Mugo, an ex-Stratus Empire General.

This dungeon is the first heroic dungeon encountered by new players and posed some difficulties for a party of level 20 to 30 players. But now a level 40s player can single-handedly decimate the whole dungeon without breaking a sweat. It used to provide essential materials for upgrading the now obsolete weapons and accessories, but as the game progressed, I guess it has been reduced to sort of a tour spot. 😆

The Blackram Narrows is built along the inner walls of a mountain that has been split in two halves and separated by the raging sea between them. Only very skilled and daring sailors dare to sail through the Narrows and thus, it is an ideal location as a pirate fortress.

Within the mountain, the Blackram pirates has built an impressive network of bridges and wooden pathways interconnecting different parts of the fortress. The dungeon is set in night time so the entire fortress is littered with glaring braziers that add secrecy to the pirate base.

Well, I guess that is enough for an introduction to the Blackram Narrows. Let us now look at the original Gon Red Specter below.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
As mentioned before, all the Specter outfits has the same 'cloth cutting into leg' problem across all races.

Rear View - Original Outfit

Left View - Original Outfit
All the Specter outfits also have the same fiery arm and leg guards.

Right View - Original Outfit

Right Close-up View - Original Outfit
Although the Specters look exactly the same for all three races, the difference in 3D models still cause the same mod to require some tweaking. For example, if you had compare the bottom part of the dress where I trimmed, you will notice that the cut off lines for the three races' outfits are slightly different.

If the exact same design for the Yun mod is applied to the Jin or Gon outfit, the cloth will still cut into the left thigh. As such, I had to trim more and at a sharper angle on the Gon's and Jin's version.

Well, let's look at the modified outfit below and you can make the comparison.

Front View - Modified Outfit

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The left side of the Gon's mod is trimmed at a sharper angle than the Yun and Jin, so it looks like a 'V' shape.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Left Close-up View - Modified Outfit

Right View - Modified Outfit

Right Close-up View - Modified Outfit
I had also removed the panty line and knot as per the Yun's and Jin's mod.

That is all for this short post, since most items have already been covered in the previous two posts. With this, I shall wrap up this mod.

In the video, I had captured some fighting actions, bashing up some pirates and decimating the Blackram Narrows (because I can as a high level character 😎 ).

Blade & Soul - Inferno (Jin Outfit) Mod

This week, we have a mod request for a special type of outfit for the Jin race. The reason it is special is because this outfit cannot be bought from anywhere in game or even from the online Hongmoon store. It is only accessible to players who are members of a clan, that satisfies a certain requirement (such as rank), and have this design available. Furthermore, to start crafting this outfit, the clan workshop needs to gather all the necessary items (designs, materials and gold), donated by clan members. The outfit comes with an accessory that looks like a pair of bat wings.

We can only occasionally see players proudly wearing this clan outfit since it is not easily obtainable. On top of that, the clan leader has to select this design to be applied to the clan outfit instead of another design. The other difficult part is... well, the clan leader gets to decide who can own the clan outfit, so you better have a good relation with your clan leader.

Sadly, I am not lucky enough to be in one of those clans so I can only show the outfit through the in-game Showroom. 😥

I can understand why the viewer particularly asked for a Jin mod and I think you can relate too if you compare the outfit for the three races below. 😞

Jin                                     Gon                                  Yun
Is there something missing on the Jin outfit?

Jin                                     Gon                                  Yun
I am sure there must be something missing. 😟

Jin                                     Gon                                  Yun
Gon gets a sexy bikini top, and Yun shows off their left thigh and side torso. But Jin has the most protection which covers the entire body with only the head being flesh. Ha, now I know what is missing on the Jin outfit. 😞 Indeed, as we can see on the Mask file, there is totally no red color code (define skin layer). 😶 So, I guess my main goal for this mod is to add some flesh to the outfit. 😆

Fortunately for us, most of the areas of the outfit is tight fitting and allow us a number of choices of areas that can be repainted to skin. The unfortunate part is that the most important area, the cleavage, is a flat surface and thus cannot be repainted to skin. 😦

Let us now take a closer look at the Jin Inferno below.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
Does the original outfit looks like a diving suit decorated with accessories? 😆

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
Can you identify those areas that can be repainted to skin?

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
What would this view looks like if repainted to skin? 😆

With the cleavage off-limit, I guess I can turn the torso region into a sport bra design but I decided to mod it into something like the Yun version but with a little more flesh. 😝

Check out the mod version below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
The left thigh is modified to be like the Yun version but the uneven surfaces cannot be simply repainted to skin, else it would look weird.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The back is nearly fully bare with a spine-like structure connecting the neck and pants portion.

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The right thigh has much more uneven surfaces so I feel there is no point in repainting that little area to skin. 😅

Left Side View - Modified Outfit

Right Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
I questioned earlier how the right view would look like and the answer is here. Hope that does not cause players to start running their characters side way. 😆

Well, that is all for this mod. Since I do not have the outfit to make a music video I make a creation video instead. The difference between this video and the previous creation video is that it focused on modifying tight fitting areas into skin, while the previous one demonstrated the general creation process.

Blade & Soul - Blackram Officer Uniform (Yun Outfit) Mod

With many requests for Jin and Yun mods, we rotates back to the Yun in this week's post. This request is part of a list of requests by a same viewer so I had to split them up to share the love with other viewers. The rotation took some time but finally, here we are mod-ding the Blackram Officer Uniform. 😅

If you can remember, I had mod the Jin Blackram Officer some time back and provided the where and how to obtain the outfit, in the post, together with a little back story about the Blackram pirates.

The same outfit looks slightly different on the three races. The main difference is in the leg portion of the outfit. And it is one of the few outfits where Jin got more love than other races, where they spot a panty with cloth covering the front and back, revealing the sides of their legs. 😍  Yun got to put on a pair of tights while Gon are forced to wear an over sized trumpet pants that looks so 70's. 😞

But then, I guess it is still better than the male character's outfit where the Gon and Jin male has the exact same outfit.  😂

Although the torso portion for the three races' outfits look similar, there is a slight difference in the 3D model. For one, the Yun's version does not have the cleavage curve as in the Jin's version, where I can recolor to reveal the cleavage. The Yun's version is just a straight piece of cloth over the cleavage so the same mod cannot be applied here.

You can check out the different versions of the Blackram Officer Uniform at MMO-fashion, if you are interested.

Let's take a look at the original Yun outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The color scheme, glove and accessories for the outfit are the same as that of the Jin version.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit

Rear View - Original Outfit
The viewer has issue with the 'tail' of the coat so I will have it trimmed.

Right Side View - Original Outfit

Left Side View - Original Outfit
The accessory hanging by the left leg moves a little strangely, with respect to the overall movement, so the viewer asked to have it removed too.

So, let's get on to the mod.

Front View - Modified Outfit
Can't resist the temptation to repaint the pair of tights to a hot pants, to show off the legs. 😅

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Since I wanted to trim the tail of the coat, I was thinking of removing the coat completely, to make an outfit with a sports bra, hot pants and a swallow tail cloth that sailor suits has over their shoulders-backs.

However, the are holes on both shoulders and the back is totally missing. As such, I need to keep a good potion of the coat to hide those holes. 😥

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The swallow tail needs to go all the way down to the hot pants because the entire back is missing. 😥

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Here, we can see clearer the short swallow tail over the hot pants.

Left Side View - Modified Outfit
Instead of removing the entire accessory, I removed only the lower part which is the main source of weird movement.

The other reason why I kept the plate is because removing it would reveal the broken part of the belt and that means removing the belt and all the accessories hanging at the front. 😥

Right Side View - Modified Outfit
Well, that's it for the mod. Catch the video below for a better view.

Blade & Soul - Ivory and Red Specter (Jin Outfit) Mod

When I did the mod for Yun Red and Ivory Specter outfits at the request of a viewer, another viewer seems to like the mod and hope it can be done for the Jin race too. So, here we are, the Red and Ivory Specter outfits mod for the Jin race.

The how and where to obtain the outfits has already been touched on in the Yun Specters post, so I will not go into that again. But just for a simple comparison between the Jin and Yun Specters, they look exactly the same. Yup, even the cloth 'cutting' into the thigh is same. 😅

So the main item for this mod is to trim the Cheongsam's length so that the cloth will no longer 'cut' into the thigh. Since I do not have the Jin outfits, I will be using the in-game showroom to display the before and after mod images.

The character shown in the showroom will be a generic Jin with the same exaggerated hip-thigh size, cute hairstyle and look. Generic characters are used when a character wants to check out how the same outfit looks on other races. For example, a Gon character looking at Jin race. This is a really awesome feature of the showroom because everyone can see how the outfit looks on other races without having to actually ask a real character to put on the outfit.

Without further delay, let us check out the original outfit below. On the left side we have the Red Specter and the right side the Ivory Specter.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
In the image above, we can see the cloth 'cutting' into the left thigh. 😅

Rear View - Original Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The two images above show the panty line with a knot on the right hip which I also want to remove, similar to the Yun's mod.

Since we know what is going to be mod, let us delve straight into the images of the modified outfits.

Front View - Modified Outfit
The front cloth has been considerably trimmed.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Looking at the rear view, it seems like the back is a little too short. I realized that after looking at the showroom and I think it might be due to the generic character having thicker butt cheeks too.  😅

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Ah! Now the right hip looks cleaner without the panty line and knot. 😍

Err... I know it looks like hair at the crotch area. Even I thought the same thing too. But then I remember I did paint on a panty. 😂  The dark areas are actually shadows caused by the lighting in the showroom shining on the dress.

This wraps up the post but  I can't make a music video since I do not have the outfits. Instead I make a video giving a glimpse into how I do mods, using the Ivory Specter as an example. Hope this will help to answer some of those many viewers who have been asking me how to get it done.  😃
