AION - Vampire Outfit

While wondering what to mod next, I went into a bookstore and moments later, a novel caught my eyes... "Vampire Diaries" and there we go... Next up, Vampire skin mod.   :p

For the current Aion, there is a skin that is very close to a vampire outfit. It is the "Cute Devil Outfit" a.k.a Succubus' Outfit. The outfit is a full body suit with a short translucent skirt and mini devil wings at the back. I really like the skin, especially the mini wings, but it looks too "un-deadly", as what I would imagine of a vampire skin; coupled with the fact that this skin will override the shoulder, gloves and shoe as well. Take a look at this nice skin below.

Cute Devil Outfit
So, looking around the internet, I can see that other than the 2 spiky teeth, the other symbolic representations for a vampire would be a red-black color scheme outfit, like that of the famous Dracula or any gothic outfit in red, black or even white (as long as the teeth are there :p).

Well.... since I can't give my character a set of vampire teeth, I figure I should go with the red-black color scheme and try to put in something to replace that famous red-black colored cloak. Fortunately, Aion has some armors with vampire-like wings, which I borrowed and modified to match the vampire outfit.

I have chosen the Technist (the pre-class of Gunslinger and Aethertech) base armor for the chest because it gives me that collar, which is very similar to that of Dracula's, although the surface area isn't as large. Ok... ok... I admit it is also due to the cleavage >.<"  But that's what a lot of female vampire outfit shows too!

And for the leg, I chose a cloth armor in which the cloth at the back is not following the legs too tightly, so as to give the wings a contour and "floating" effect. And more importantly, the leggy legs. :p

For the final results, see below images which are captured in Heiron, where most of Aion's undead creatures creep.

Eagle-eyed viewers might have also notice the torn-ups area on the chest skin, which is also another symbolic representations for undead. But in this case, the torn-ups more closely match the curvatures of bat wings.

Also, for better effect, I looked though the massive armor collection in Aion and chose the shoulder, glove and boots to match the outfit. The shoulder especially gives that creepy feel with a hand grabbing onto her upper arm. >.<

So, do you guys think this outfit matches that of a vampire? Watch the YouTube video below to see the queen commanding her troops into a rampage.

AION - Jungle Jane Outfit

Recently, the movie "The Legend of Tarzan" just hit cinemas, with posters and trailers flooding both physical and cybernetic world. Then, a light bulb lit in my head "Why not make a jungle outfit for my character?" since Aion has plenty of jungles littered with critters, exotic plants and terrible monsters ready to tear players up at the slightest chance. Well, so I did. :p

Well, firstly, I would need to figure out what the outfit will look like and then I'll have to find suitable armor skins for the modification (or as I always call it "xForm!").

Hmm...the first part isn't that tough since most of the Tarzans, that I had seen before, all wear some kind of brown leather rag (or was that cloth? Well, given the Tarzan in a real world probably wouldn't wear leather because it has to come off some poor animal?   >.<  ).

Anyway, I choose to make a brown leather 2 piece outfit (I swear that no animals are harm in the creation  process!  :p ). So, I picked a tight fitting leather chest armor (jerkin) with a single-sided strap on the right shoulder and a tight fitting leather leg armor (breeches), which I can cleanly modified into hot pants that display her leggy legs.

However, I figure that a plain 2 piece brown leather outfit will look too dull, so I added some decorations to the basic chest piece.

And for the results, look at the images below.  :)

Having all meat (and leather) but no veggie isn't healthy, so for the addition decorations, as shown in the images above, I have given her a glowing flower necklace, 2 arm bands decorated with flower bulbs and lastly, a freshly off the branch's leaf skirt! The skirt is so fresh, it is still shiny!

Oh! And by the way, I did not modify the head wrap. I just find it a pretty match for this outfit and so used it for the images and video. For those interested, the head wrap is actually a chain hood (really!? o.O), that obviously does not contains a trace of chain, called the "Rebel Chanter/Cleric/Aethertech Chain Hood". Similar to the "Rebel Chanter/Cleric/Aethertech Hauberk", this head armor drop off bosses in the old "Rentus Base" or from treasure chest in the newer "Occupied Rentus Base" (or simply ORB).

So. Do you guys like this jungle outfit? Watch it in action in the YouTube video below.

AION - Remodeled Danuar Helm

Having been haunted for weeks by the "Hell-spawn" helmet (remember the plate helmet that I talked about in 1 of my previous posts - Remodeled Danuar Tunic?), I finally decide I should put an end to the nightmare, by modifying it into a less "hellish" look.

Well.... I have read about an article which analyzed why inanimate humanoid (i.e. corpse) or human look-alike always give us the chill. It turns out that the human brain sends a "warning" or "fear" signal when we see human-like objects (but not 100% human) or a corpse-like object. Can you imagine a ghost face with no eyes or the giants (from "Attack on Titans") with human face but staring eyes and enlarge mouth coupled with an over-expressive smile? Check out a scene from the movie below.

A scene from "Attack on Titans"
So, I guess the "hellish" feeling that I got from the helm probably came from both conditions, since it looks like an inanimate human head.  >.<"

Thus, I tried removing the goggle to reveal her eyes, and what a difference it made! Does that means that the theory holds? Compare the before and after modification image below and judge for yourself.

For those with sharp eyes, you may have noticed I did a few other enhancements to the helm.

First being her hair band, which is actually a nut (as in bolts & nuts). I find a grey rusty nut unhealthy for her hair and thus replace it with a shinier, golden one.

Next, I polished the wing badge on her forehead to bring out the shine.

And finally, removing the full goggle and replacing it with a new shiny eye piece with a cross-hair. I got the idea for the floating eye piece from "Allen Walker" in "D.Gray Man" animation, where an eye piece will appear in front of his left eye when it detects an "Akuma" (Demon in Japanese). Unfortunately, I am unable to achieve a one-eye effect because both eye pieces use the same texture, which means either both eyes or not at all.

I had also initially wanted to place a translucent texture in the middle of the eye piece, to make it look more like a glass, but the mesh was formed such that it is an opaque structure. Thus, it has to be either a colored or transparent area, instead of translucent.

So, do you guys prefer the before Mod or after Mod?

AION - Veteran Hunter's Chausses

As promised in previous post, I'll show you guys the leg armor (pants) which I had used to create a match for the Rebel Chain Chest armor. The pants that I used is in this post's title, namely the Veteran Hunter's Chausses. This leather leg armor can be bought from the "Fortuneer" NPC who are stationed at Cygnea or Inggison fortress, with their special reward tokens which are given for completing their daily quest.

By the way "chausses" is used as the standardized naming convention for leather leg armor since Aion 4.X, similar to "hauberk" which means chain chest armor. I actually googled those terms, when Aion NA started using them, and they are actual terms used to describe armor in older days (12th to 15th century). See.... we do learn something while playing games :p

Anyway, for people who are wondering why my character is wearing both chain and leather at the same time, it is because they provides different character stats (e.g. chain has higher physical defense, while leather provides higher evasion rate). Another reason is because, the original matching pants, Rebel Brogans (i.e. Chain Leg armor) cannot be altered to what I need due to the mesh not following a tight leg shape, as illustrated below.

Can't change the baggy pants into a tight fit leg :(
As the image above has shown, I can't modified the "baggy" pants into a tight leg shape if I cannot change the mesh, which determines the surface shape of the armor skin.  :(

With everything explained, let's now look at the before and after modification images.

Front view
Rear view
Close-up view
Some people, who has an eagle-eye for fashion, will probably frown at the mismatched chest and leg armor in the above images, but I had actually used that leather top because it has a neat cutoff at the waist line, such that the leg armor can be shown clearly without any obstruction. I modified this leg armor to match another chain armor, remember?   :)

To prove my point about the matching, watch the video below for the chest and leg armor worn together.    :)

AION - Rebel Cleric/Chanter/Aethertech Hauberk

Wow! Aion has come to its 5th installment with Aion 5.0 - Echoes of Eternity launching in North America on the 13 July. It will be busy months ahead for players of Aion, including this xFormer, as we race to achieve the highest level. And with new expansion, comes new beautiful armors, which means more sexy armor for me to mod. :p  Also, not forgetting the nice sceneries that will come with the new maps.

But for now, before we can settle down from the chaos caused by the sea of new things, I'll still be modifying some of the old armors because there are just so many of them. So let's get started here so I can get back to the game.   >.<

Today, I'll be working on a chain chest armor, namely the Rebel Chain Hauberk (I put chain because all 3 classes of Chanter, Cleric and Aethertech share the same skin). This particular piece of chest armor dropped off bosses in the older Rentus Base dungeon (level 57+) and from the treasure chest hidden beside the final boss' room of the newer Occupied Rentus Base instance (level 65+).

This set of armors is derived from the ancient Arabic style, similar to that of Ali Baba, and is one of the chain armor that I like a lot, except for a few items. Let's take a look at the original armor. The pants shown in the image is the matching part from the same armor set.

Original Armor
With the idea to remove the 2 items, I got to work and the result is kind of exaggerating because this bad xFormer has done it yet again,  ~.~  by removing more materials than originally intended. Look at this chest armor which has now been reduced to just a stripe of metal wrapping around her upper body.

By the way, the pants that you guys see in the below images is not a modified version of the original pants but another pants, that I have modified to match this new armor. More details for the pants will be given in later post.

I had intended to design the two ends of the metal stripe to be 2 snake heads but my laziness got the best of me and I left the ends with the shape of the snake heads but no eyes or hissing tongue. :(

Take a closer look and decide for yourself whether it would look better with the eyes and hissing tongue.

So, do you guys think the eyes and tongue should go in? :p

Finally, a video showing the armor in action.

AION - Remodeled Danuar Tunic

In this post, I will be featuring one of my favorite armor skin in Aion, the Remodeled Danuar Tunic. This armor set is only buyable using Ancient coins from the Shugo in Cygnea or Enshar.

As Aion players will know, Shugos are from a scientific/engineering proficient civilization. Thus, the armor sets has that engineer feel, with plenty of bolts, gears, straps and what else but pockets!

The reason why I chose the cloth set is because it looks cute, especially with the headband, as compared to the plate helmet that looks like a hell-spawn soldier or chain helmet that looks like a toy soldier. Don't belief? Look here. ~.~

Remodeled Danuar Headgear comparison
Although I find the plate and chain headgear kind of weird, I have to salute the designers for putting in lots of efforts to give the different armor sets their individual unique looks. Plus, the leather headgear actually looks pretty classy too.

Hmm...from the above image, it looks like there are only 2 straps running down and covering her breasts? Of course not! Surely NCSoft will not do that... but can't say the same for this xFormer, who just can't resist the temptation to be naughty.   :p

Well, if you guys are wondering what have I did to this beautiful skin? Like Nike's motto suggests "Just Do It!". And so, I did! I strip all the clothes from the upper part of her body, plus a piece of  cloth that is "blinding" my sight, by covering her butt and back of her legs.

So, what's left on her? Let's take a look. :p

Front view

Rear view

Side view
For some reason, she reminds me a bit of Lara Croft from Tomb Raider after the back piece of cloth is removed. Would you guys agree?   >.<"

The top part of her body is left with straps, bolts and gears... Bad xFormer! >.<    And that butt area is where I felt looks like Lara. Maybe it's because of that hot pants.  :p

Well, let's take a closer look.

And finally, the video. Enjoy!

AION - Cheerleader Outfit

While talking about the diversity of Aion's costumes and armors in the previous post, I came to realize that there's no cheerleader costume in Aion! Oh wow! really!? I mean, we have kungfu suit, baseball suit, biker suit, swim suit and even boxing suit but amazingly no cheerleader costume?

Hmm...could it be due to cheerleading not being a part of Korean's culture? (NCSoft is a Korean company, for those who don't know) Well.. maybe...But that's for someone else who is interested to find out. Over here, I'm just concerning myself in making a cheerleader outfit.  :3

So, in order to create a cheerleader outfit, I would need to have some examples and idea on what it should look like. Fortunately, the internet happen to have infinite numbers of those and many seems to point to tight fitting uniform with short skirts. As for the color to be applied, some how or another, the blue-red combo of Wonder woman just came to mind.

Oh! I also placed a shiny heart-shaped frame on her chest, if you guys missed it. The top close-up view should show it more clearly. :p

Anyway, with the combo of style  and color decided, I got to work and the final result is as follows! So, does the red-blue colored 2-piece costume kind of remind you of Wonder woman? Or does it fail to even resemble a Cheerleader outfit? >.<

I have to say that it's not my intention to shorten the behind of the skirt to such a short length, such that almost half of her butt cheek is showing... I was actually trying to level the skirt length to the front of the panties, but the problem is that the shortened piece of cloth texture is used for both the front and back. And because of her beautiful, round butt, the same length of cloth at the back just isn't sufficient. Maybe if I made a character with a flat butt, it would appear just the way that I wanted... >.<

Anyway, hope you guys like it and here's a video of the Cheerleader outfit. If only, NCSoft have kept that pom pom cheer emo... It would have been perfect for the video!

On a side note, just wondering, why is "Wonder woman" not written as "Wonderwoman". While terms like Superman, Batman, Spiderman are all acceptable in spellcheck, "Wonderwoman" got a error highlight...   O.o?

AION - My Bath Robe

For all Aion players out there, we all know how diversified the costumes in the game can be. Right from costumes from the good old days such as the Celtic costume, ninja costume, pirate costume, to the modern days' biker costume, gym suit, sport wear, different kind of swimsuits and many, many more... Also, let's not forget about the more controversial ones such as playboy bunny, scandal costume and even a Bathrobe... O.O

For those who do not play Aion or know what the original Bathrobe looks like, it basically includes a huge towel covering the blossom, from below the armpit to the upper thigh. And in case you're thinking NCSoft will let their creations go commando... Sorry to disappoint, but she's wearing a grey panties. :p

Take a look at this Bathrobe costume... Does this make players of other games envious? :)  And, no... I am not showing the view from below. You guys will just have to trust me on the grey panties. ~.~

Original Bathrobe Front view

Original Bathrobe Rear view
What I did for "My Bathrobe" isn't a mod of this original bathrobe, which is a one-piece includes all, but 2 separate pieces of armor (chest and pants), namely the Sea Feast chest and an older leg armor, which I picked for the mod.

Well, I find the whole-piece towel, with same color, a bit dull and thus decided to have a multi-colored towel and with minimal overage (being naughty here again >.<"  ). And since the towel has minimal coverage, I'd better give her a panties to cover up her lower body.

The concept for "My Bathrobe" was taken from an episode of my favorite animation "Ghost in the Shell", where the main character Motoko walked out of the bathroom in her panties, with a towel hanging around her neck, just dangling over and covering her breasts.

So, what is the result? Take a look below.

Front view

Unfortunately, I can't modify the mesh and thus, the towel looks something like a body painting without physical depth and of course, no dangling effect.  :(

On the other hand, I am able to make her whole body (skin area) glossy, as though she just walked right out of shower. :p

So finally, here's a video of the bathrobe. Enjoy!

AION - Sauro Commander's Cloth Chest (Tunic)

So far, I have shown my mods for 3 of the armor types (plate, chain and leather), so I guess it is time to show one for cloth type. And I have decided to use the Sauro Commander's Cloth Chest (or Tunic) for this. This armor drops off not only from the final boss in Sauro Supply Base (SSB), but also certain Named mobs, such as Grigol, in the open world. Happy hunting.

I find that this is quite a beautiful armor (and no bug), especially that pair of leggy legs. :p  However, I still find a few things that is not exactly to my taste. For example, dyeing the armor will literally change the color of the whole armor... It looks great in white but imagine all green, looking like I'm wearing an army camouflage uniform... ~.~

And, although I agree that the lower back of the robe looks great, why would anyone want to place 2 pieces of cloth there... >.<

Look at these screen captures and see if you agree. Oh, I got a new hat! Hope you guys like it.

Original skin - dyed blue and green

Original skin - 2 pieces of cloth and lower back
It's difficult to decide which piece of the cloth I should keep, as both have their own attractiveness. But for my love of leggy-ness, the long pixelated one must go! :p

So, what does the result looks like? Take a look down below.

Front View - Before & After
Rear View - Before & After

Side View - Before & After
As usual, I ended up removing more materials then I needed, and thus, she is now basically wearing a 2-piece armor which is connected by the front lightning bolt that runs down her left thigh. I also gave her a super high-cut, on the outer thigh, to show off her leggy-ness. :p

Oh! Did I also mention about a translucent bra imitating those semi-nude garments worn by celebrities and making the remaining piece of cloth at her back more transparent? Well, seeing is believing so let's take a closer look. :p

Front Close-up View

Rear Close-up View
A lot of time was put into modifying the bra to achieve the look that I wanted, and I swear I did not draw those nipples... I just gave it a little nipple bump (as in bump-map for those who knows what that is) and the effect appears mysteriously... >.<"

For those who are not too pre-occupied by her (.)(.), you may also notice that her arm and armor frame retains the original color even though the armor is dyed, so she wouldn't look like a orange or apple.

Well, hope you guys like what I have done. Here's a video of the armor before and after modification.
