In last week's post, we have seen one of the newest outfits so in this post, we will be looking at one of the oldest. The Silken Splendor was first made available, in an event, during the celebration of Blade & Soul NA server's one year anniversary. Since the game is still new in NA at that time, many current players probably missed out on this beautiful outfit. But fortunately, it recently reappeared in the Fortune Falls event 2018 along side two other outfits and an adornment. By now, every player should have at least one Silken Splendor in their Wardrobe. 😃
Just like Untold Fury, the Silken Splendor adopts a 'one-style-fits-all' design, where Jin, Gon and Yun shares the exact same design. Most players will agree that the outfit could be one of the best, if not for the two 'airbag-like' decors that hangs from the armband. 😓

The outfit's design is unique in a way such that I can't tell the origin of the base design but it is littered with oriental decors, such as butterfly knots, and trinkets.

The bathing suit on the torso extends downwards to form a stocking-like extension over the right leg.
And we definitely can't miss the two huge bag-like décor hanging from the armband. 😅

The front and back of the bathing suit is held together by a golden frame at the chest level and a laced cloth at the waist level.
Overall, I find that the outfit is still beautiful despite the two 'bags' that hinder every view.
The first target of the mod is of course to remove the two 'bags'. This can be done thanks to the fact that they are not wrapped around the arms. If the 'bags' do wrap around the arms, the arms' mesh structure would likely be omitted, like in the case of Shangri' la or Millennium.
Next, I trimmed the tail cloth, as usual, so it will reveal a bit of the butt cheek.
Finally, I tried to modify the front torso portion. I have two ideas: One is to recolor the middle purple colored portion to skin, so it reveals the tummy region or modify the white colored region to a lace layer. Well, a third option can be applying both mods, but that may turn it into a lingerie. 😅 After some thoughts, I decided to apply the lace layer.

I do like the look of this mod, i have something similar already from another modder, but i'd like to check this one out too

DeleteHmm... No need copying 100% from the White Angel, i think it will be hard, so, you can just change it to a transparent lace T-string. The transparent level same to your "Silken Splendor (Yun Outfit) Mod" is the best.
DeleteWell, the problem with the panties is because the mesh is exceedingly stretched. Anything drawn on that area becomes out of shape, just like how we draw something onto an un-inflated balloon and the drawing change when we inflate the balloon, except that the stretching on the balloon is uniform but not on the mesh. 😅 It does not affect the original outfit because, as you know, the whole area has same color and it remains largely unaffected even when stretched.

DeleteI was going to tell you that the belt cannot be extended because it sits on another layer (above the skin layer) and that mesh structure is fully used already but I guess you would have noticed that by now. 😅
But the glossy cannot be trimmed down further. Maybe the character has been customized (during character customization) to have glossy skin?

DeleteNow I know what caused that problem. The paint.net's interpolating alpha is not correct. I recommend using photoshop with nvidia's plugin
ReplyDeleteWell, the UPKManager uses DXT-5 interpolated alpha with paint.net to repack the upk files, so there is nothing that I can do about that. 😓
DeletePhotoshop with NVIDIA plug-in is able to edit and save DXT-5 correctly, the quality when you save as *.DDS slightly better than the best profile of paint.net with better (a bit) dither and smoother
