AION - Divine Hauberk of the Arena Conqueror

Hello everyone! It's time for a chain armor mod again, and in this post, we'll be looking at the chain version of "Divine Tunic of the Arena Conqueror". The reason why I want to mod this armor is that, as I had mentioned in previous post, it is currently a popular armor due to its re-introduction. Besides, it is a cool armor set with the spider crests and design.

Without any further delay, let us look at the original armor.

Do you guys think the chain (hauberk) version looks very similar to the cloth (tunic) version? Basically, they have the same dress with similar texture (i.e. vertical lines running from top to bottom), except for the chest area and the length of the dress.

For the tunic, the chest area is made of some black, fluffy material, that is similar to those on the hauberk's shoulder, while the hauberk's chest area is just a normal piece of cloth. However, it is this difference in the chest area that enables this naughty XFormer to do something like this.   :p

In the case of the tunic, the chest surface is made of a fluffy mesh, which does not retain the shape of the breasts, and removing that surface would leave a hole. On the other hand, the hauberk has a mesh that retains the shape of the breasts, at least at the sides. Though unfortunately, for the center portion, there's nothing that can be done because it is a piece of cloth covering the cleavage, and removing that would leave a hole.   DX

So, what does the mod armor looks like? Take a look below.

Other than revealing the sides, the armor now also has a bare-back look. The full dress has now been transformed into a two piece chest (or rather, some kind of clip-on bra?   XD  ) and skirt, connected by two straps. In addition, the skirt has been shortened to reveal more of the upper thighs.

For eagle-eyed readers, you will probably noticed that the thighs seem to be so "thick". Just for clarification, I did not create the character with such thick thighs. This seems to be the thigh-boost effect of the armor (i.e. the mesh).

Interestingly, if you guys can remember my rumbling, about the super slim legs, in my previous post on the cloth version, a scenario strangely comes to mind.   XD

Could it be that the Quality Control department of the developer had noticed the super slim legs on the cloth version, and thus, informed the designer about the issue; But unfortunately, gave them the name of the chain version instead of the cloth version. The designer was like "Oh! make the legs of this chain armor thicker" and tadaaah.... super slim legs remaining on the tunic while the hauberk got the enhanced thick legs.   XDDDD     Anyway, that's just my imagination.  :p

Watch the video to check out the legs yourself, if it isn't obvious enough in the images.  XD

AION - Divine Tunic of the Arena Conqueror

For the second post of the week, we will be looking at a chest armor which has been reintroduced in AION (NA) 5.1. Hmm... Why did I use the word reintroduced? That's because this armor first appeared in AION 4.0, when the Arenas were introduced. These are armors with PvP stats and bought using medals (Courage Insignia) that are awarded for taking part in Arena battles.

With AION 5.0, Daeva can now become Archdaeva who are level 66+. This causes a huge level gap between Arena fighters, in which lower level players find it hard to compete against higher level players. Thus, with AION 5.1, the arena system is now segregated into Daeva and Archdaeva. The newer Archdaeva arena awards new medals (Valor Insignia) which can then be used to purchase higher level PvP armors. These new armors use the same skin as the old Arena armors, except for some color differences. That's why I use the term reintroduced.   :p

Since the skin will now be more popular due to its reintroduction, what better time than now to do some mods on it.  :D

So let us take a look at the original armor below.

Rear Views - Original Armor
As seen in the above images, the original armor looks like a long dress with bare shoulder and a slit that runs from the upper left thigh down to the bottom. Did I just describe a night party dress? Well... May be, but the armor is also laced with "thorns" on the outside of both arms.   o.O

Looking at the mesh of this armor, the upper part of the dress actually made up the entire torso. This means that the upper part of the dress cannot be removed at all else it will leave holes. Thus, I can only mod the lower part of the dress but not the torso area.   >.<

What can I do if I can only mod the lower part of the dress then?

If we look carefully at the dress, we can notice that it has vertical lines running down, right from the top. That gave me an idea to shred (and I mean literally shred) the lower part of the dress.    XD

What do I mean by literally shredding the dress? Take a look below.

And so, I have modify the tummy area into skin texture (i.e. exposing the tummy) and turned the lower portion of the long dress into a shot skirt, with dangling vertical threads. Does it looks like the dress has been ran through a shredding machine?    :p

But as usual this stingy XFormer, a.k.a. me, ran low on budget and the skirt ends up revealing some part of the panties.   ~.~

Another thing that I noticed is that the legs seem to be so much slimmer after putting on this armor. Seems to be another miraculous body transformation effect by the armor, I guess.  >.<

Unfortunately, when I am all done and started video capturing in the game, I noticed that the threads dangling from the skirt are behaving strangely. They seem to stretch weirdly when her legs moves apart, as evidently captured in the video. That's probably because they are actually part of a piece of cloth (i.e. the original dress), instead of being free falling bodies. As such, they stretch and move together as one, instead of behaving like individual strings. What an oversight!     ~.~

Due to this issue, I decided to made another mod with the skirt but without the dangling threads. So you can choose the one that you like from the link below.

Well, that's all for this mod. Check out the video below.
