Blade & Soul - Silken Splendor (Yun Outfit) Mod

In last week's post, we have seen one of the newest outfits so in this post, we will be looking at one of the oldest. The Silken Splendor was first made available, in an event, during the celebration of Blade & Soul NA server's one year anniversary. Since the game is still new in NA at that time, many current players probably missed out on this beautiful outfit. But fortunately, it recently reappeared in the Fortune Falls event 2018 along side two other outfits and an adornment. By now, every player should have at least one Silken Splendor in their Wardrobe. πŸ˜ƒ

Just like Untold Fury, the Silken Splendor adopts a 'one-style-fits-all' design, where Jin, Gon and Yun shares the exact same design. Most players will agree that the outfit could be one of the best, if not for the two 'airbag-like' decors that hangs from the armband. πŸ˜“

If that has gotten you interested in what the outfit looks like, check it out below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The outfit's design is unique in a way such that I can't tell the origin of the base design but it is littered with oriental decors, such as butterfly knots, and trinkets.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
The bathing suit on the torso extends downwards to form a stocking-like extension over the right leg.

And we definitely can't miss the two huge bag-like dΓ©cor hanging from the armband. πŸ˜…

Rear View - Original Outfit
We can see a piece of tail cloth covering the entire butt in the rear view...

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
Aided by the two 'bags', everything at the back, above the knee level is obscured. 😧

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The front and back of the bathing suit is held together by a golden frame at the chest level and a laced cloth at the waist level.

Overall, I find that the outfit is still beautiful despite the two 'bags' that hinder every view.

The first target of the mod is of course to remove the two 'bags'. This can be done thanks to the fact that they are not wrapped around the arms. If the 'bags' do wrap around the arms, the arms' mesh structure would likely be omitted, like in the case of Shangri' la or Millennium.

Next, I trimmed the tail cloth, as usual, so it will reveal a bit of the butt cheek.

Finally, I tried to modify the front torso portion. I have two ideas: One is to recolor the middle purple colored portion to skin, so it reveals the tummy region or modify the white colored region to a lace layer. Well, a third option can be applying both mods, but that may turn it into a lingerie. πŸ˜…  After some thoughts, I decided to apply the lace layer.

View the images below for the final mod.

Front View - Modified Outfit
The only change that can be observed from afar, is the missing 'bag' dΓ©cors.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
A closer look will reveal that the white silky region is now a lace layer, except the crotch area (for obvious reason πŸ˜† ).

It may not be very clear in the image but I included some really close-up shots in the video.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
With the 'bags' removed, we can see the full back picture now. πŸ˜†

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The tail cloth is trimmed into a tapered end so it reveals a bit of the left butt cheek. 😍

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
No more 'bags' to block the nice side view. πŸ˜„

Blade & Soul - Untold Fury (Jin Outfit) Mod

This week, we have a very new outfit fresh out of the newest NA Warden's Fury patch - Untold Fury. This outfit is given free to each player (per account) if they register for the release of the expansion. I chose to give it to my Jin Soul Fighter although I think it would look more awesome on classes that wield gigantic weapon, such as a Warden or Destroyer.

A reason for making this mod is due to a viewer asking whether it is possible to shorten the coat. Personally, I feel that it would affect the 'feel' of the outfit, reducing the 'fury-ness'. Well, that's why all the cool guys in The Matrix movies, like Neo and Morpheus, wear long coat, right? πŸ˜…

Anyway, I shortened the coat on the Yun Untold Fury and uploaded the pictures. However, I also wondered if it is possible to increase the 'fury-ness' of the outfit. As such, I did a mod for the Jin's and Gon's versions respectively, with a little alterations to the coat, to see what they would look like. I included all three versions in the same video, so you can make a comparison. But I will mainly focus on the Jin's version in this post.

The Untold Fury outfit looks exactly the same for all the three races, sporting a bra top and black leather skirt combination for the base. The base outfit is complimented by a long white coat, with folded sleeves, and a pair of black boots. The bra top is special in a way that it has a long piece of cloth at one end, which wraps around the body and then tied down at the front.

Let us take a look at the original outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit
We can see the unbuttoned white long coat, with folded sleeves, over the bra top and skirt.

The rear and side views are mainly covered by the coat. πŸ˜…

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
I mainly played around with the coat, for the mods, since nothing much can be done on the bra and skirt. However, I did shortened the skirt and trimmed the bra a little. Just for information, a quarter of the mesh structure for the breasts is missing (for all three races), so if anyone is thinking of going topless, they will be disappointed. πŸ˜†

As mentioned earlier, I shortened the coat for the Yun's version. But for the Gon's, I gave it a torn look at the bottom and colored it red. In the Jin mod, I tried to add more fiery into the coat by cutting a slit at the center and adding some fiery patterns. Take a look at the Jin's mod below.

You may not see a difference in the bra top and skirt, but I can assure you that they have been trimmed. πŸ˜…

Rear View - Modified Outfit
We can see the slit at the center, running from the skirt level to the bottom.

And also the fiery patterns at the edges of the coat.

Blade & Soul - Oblivion (Gon Outfit) Mod

I remember it to be end of last year when I made the Yun Oblivion mod. It does not seem to be very popular (or is it because it is too difficult to obtain it back at that time?) and I eventually forgot about making the Oblivion mod for Gon and Jin. A viewer eventually saw the Yun post, about a month ago, and requested for the Gon version, so here it is, the Gon Oblivion. πŸ˜ƒ

Back when I made the Yun Oblivion mod, it is still not easily obtainable because it only drops in Hard mode of the dungeon. After almost a year and with the release of new contents, the Desolate Tomb dungeon is once again fading into oblivion, like the Tomb of Exiled dungeon before it. With these factors, the Hard mode of the dungeon has now been taken out and items that only drop in Hard mode are now available in normal mode. Thus, making the Oblivion much more available to players. But then again, players will still need Lady Luck to smile on them, as the chance for it to drop is still low. πŸ˜₯

Since I have touched on the back story of dungeons in the Yun post, I will get straight to the outfit here.

When comparing between the Gon and Yun Oblivion, we can see that they are very much alike. However, on the chest portion of the Yun's version, we can see a pair of crossed strings connecting the top of the bra to the neck, while for the Gon's version, the pair of strings is missing. Also, the glowing orange crystal for Gon is larger in size. You can verify it in the image below.

Gon                                                            Yun
Now, let us take a closer look at the original Gon Oblivion below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The design is mostly similar, donning a full grey latex body suit, which reveals the top portion of the torso, as the base layer. The tight fitting body suit is enhanced by a pair of long boots, leg guards, a pair of exaggerated arm guards and a dark blue leather layer.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
The main color are similar to the Yun's version with grey, dark blue, and glowing orange decors.

Rear View - Original Outfit
A tail which conducts electricity can be seen on the back.

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit

Right Side View - Original Outfit

Right Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
In the last two images above, we can see the exaggerated arm guards which also has electricity arcing between the pieces.

In the Gon mod, I recolored the grey tight fitting layer to skin as I did for the Yun mod. However, I did not 'open' up the tummy or modify the crotch area, in order to give a little difference between the two (or maybe I am just being lazy 😝 ). The tan lines that are very prominent in the Yun mod are also omitted in the Gon mod.

Likewise in the Yun mod, I kept all the bulky arm guards because I want to have that electrifying effect. πŸ˜…

The final mod is as shown in the images below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As you can see, the grey under-layer has been recolored to skin, including the thighs that are partially revealed under the leg guards.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The bra was trimmed a little to remove the grey layer at the sides.

The mesh structure and texture for the bra and breasts are actually shared, so modifying the bra also means modifying the breasts and vice versa. This is something that I rarely see. πŸ˜•

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The electrifying tail and arm guards are kept because the effect looks great.

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
In real life, I don't know how the back of the outfit can stick up on the body like that. πŸ˜…

I don't really like the way how the butt transition to the leg guards so sharply. But there is nothing much that can be done since the leg guards 'bloated' up quite quickly below and it is not convincing to recolor them to skin layer.

Another way is to remove the top part of the leg guards completely, but unfortunately, the thighs (seen under the leg guards) are not connected to the crotch and the back of the thighs are also missing. πŸ˜₯

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Overall, the mod looks very similar to that worn by the NPC that I have shown in the Yun post, except for the G-String and the recoloring of the thighs (under the leg guards) to skin color.

So what do you think of this mod? Catch the video for a better look.

Blade & Soul - Jiangshi Raiment (Yun Outfit) Mod

Rotating back to a Yun mod this week, we will get to see the Jiangshi Raiment in this post. I have posted the Jin Jiangshi Raiment about a month ago and most of the details about the outfit has already been covered, so I will not go into that again. Instead, let's compare the Jin and Yun outfits for differences.

Can you tell the difference by looking at the images below?

Yun                                                            Jin
Frankly speaking, the two outfits look almost 100 percent identical. But if you look closer, you will notice differences in the top portion of the torso (chest and waist).

For one, the bra cap has a different look. Also, the red 'V' shape lining on the Yun's version is seen to be longer than the Jin's version and they ran over the bra cap. The bra cap on the Jin's version can be seen above or beside the linings.

The other difference that is not so obvious is that the cloth, that wraps around the waist, covers the left side of the waist for the Yun's version, while not so for the Jin's. This can be seen more clearly when looking at the modified version.

Shall we take a closer look at the Yun original outfit below?

Front View - Original Outfit
The Yun's pants look similar to the Jin's, which is a black latex pants that includes a pair of blood red boots (meaning the boots are part of the pants πŸ˜… ).

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
They also have the same grey scaly arms with black linings.

Rear View - Original Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
The rear views of both outfits look identical with the scaly cloth, furry collar and blood red spine.

Right Side View - Original Outfit

Right Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The request for this mod came after I posted the Jin Jiangshi Raiment, so I decided to do the same mod for the Yun's version.

So the first part of the mod transformed the latex layer to skin layer, followed by removing the furry collar and finally modifying the scaly cloth to the blood red cloth.

Let's see how these work out below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As you can see, the latex (scaly) arms and legs are now skin layer. I also give it the same pair of boots like the one in the Jin's version.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Over the top image, we can see that the glove is also similar to the Jin's mod version.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The scaly cloth has been replaced with the blood red type and the furry collar has been removed.

Left Side View - Modified Outfit

Left Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Comparing the top and below images, will help you understand what I had mentioned earlier about the difference in the left side of the waist.

While the Jin's mod shows both sides of the waist as skin layer, the Yun's mod only show skin layer on the right side.

I thought of removing the cloth but the mesh structure (of the left waist) below the cloth is missing, so I had to give up the idea. πŸ˜“

Right Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
As in the case of the Jin mod, I do not quite like the shoulder region without the furry collar. But I still had it removed because that is what was done for the Jin's version. πŸ˜†

You can watch the video and look at the close-ups on the shoulder to see if you agree.
