Blade & Soul - Spellbinder (Jin Outfit) Mod

Hope everyone has had a great πŸŽ„ChristmasπŸŽ„ holiday! With the passing of Christmas, the end of year approaches. I hope by now, you have achieved the targets and goals that you have set for yourself for 2018. πŸ˜ƒ I know my goal of becoming a millionaire is still far away... πŸ˜†πŸ˜… J/k.

Sorry that I am a day late for this post; not because I was away enjoying the holiday but because of the video that I tried to put together.

Anyway, in this week's post, we will see the Jin Spellbinder, which is quite a new outfit. It was on sale on the online Hongmoon store just two months back or so.

As the name suggested, the outfit has a magical touch to its look, resembling those costumes worn by stage magicians. It even has a matching tall hat in which rabbit, dove and other surprises can be pulled out from, as countless magicians have demonstrated.

This outfit looks beautiful and as mentioned earlier resembles a magician's stage costume. The torso portion is a formal white-black wear, with a red-black swallow tail coat worn over it. The long sleeves of the coat are folded to reveal the forearms and a pair of white gloves.

Several decorations can be seen on the outfit which has the symbol of spade, heart, club and diamond; because we know magicians are good with cards. πŸ˜†

Lastly, a layer of rough netting can be seen covering the legs.

Let us check out the original Jin Spellbinder below before we go into the mod.

Front View - Original Outfit
I called the netting rough because it looks like fishnet stockings and it blocks the full view of those leggy legs. πŸ˜…

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
A leg band, filled with card's symbols of spade, heart, club and diamond can be seen on the right upper thigh.

Rear View - Original Outfit
The long swallow tail almost fully covers the view of the two legs..

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
And the coat obscures the view of the butt area.. 😧

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The requester wanted the swallow tail trimmed because they not only block the view but also kind of stick to the back of the thighs when the character is moving, causing them to look awkward. 😰

I agree to that and thus I trimmed the swallow tail into kind of like a pair of bat wings, that extends to the side so the butt area will not be blocked.

Due to my love for leggy legs, the fishnet stocking will also have to go. πŸ˜…

Let's examine the mod outfit below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
Yeah! No more fishnet stockings! 😍

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The thigh band looks good so I left it alone.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
Swallow tail is now gone..

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
And replaced by a pair of tiny bat wings. πŸ˜†

Side View - Modified Outfit
Leggy legs found. πŸ˜…

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
So, is the outfit more spellbinding now? πŸ˜…

I completed the Spellbinder mod quite fast because it is mainly removing of materials, so I took some time to mod another outfit - Jin Ghost In The Shell, as shown in the video and image below.

The request is for the torso portion to be made similar to that in the Gon mod, that I made previously, plus removing the ghost face, tail fins and shoulder guards.

Blade & Soul - Dayglow (Gon Outfit) Mod

Coming back to a Gon mod this week, I would like to work on the Dayglow outfit which was requested almost one month back, together with the Jin version. I had actually worked on the Jin version prior, but find out that it has a tendency to crash the game, probably due to a bad repacking. Fortunately, the Gon version seems to work fine so I will post it here.

Most of the information regarding this outfit has already been detailed in the Yun Dayglow post so I will not go into those again. But as stated, it is an one-per-account outfit πŸ˜₯ and since I already gave it to my Yun character, I can only show the Gon version, through the in-game Tailor Shop, in the video.

So without delay, let us take a look at the original Gon outfit which looks exactly the same as the Yun's and Jin's.

Front View - Original Outfit
The color theme and design of the Gon version is same as that of the Yun's..

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
Right down to the netting layer that covers the torso portion of the outfit.

Rear View - Original Outfit
The rear looks largely the same too but the Gon's physique and pose might have twisted the outfit a little.

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
Since the requestor did not specify any alterations in the Yun post, I duplicate the exact same mod from the Yun to the Gon.

That includes the removal of the leggings and netting, plus trimming the front cloth, tail cloth, sides and bra.

The final result looks very similar to the Yun mod as shown below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As seen above, the netting and leggings have been removed.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The front cloth has been trimmed into a heart shape and bra has been separated from the collar.

The mid portion of the front cloth has also been modified to a netting but it is not very obvious in the image.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The tail cloth has been trimmed into a heart shape with the mid portion modified to a netting layer, just like in the case of the front cloth.

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Now that you have seen the same mod on both Gon and Yun, which race do you think best rock this mod outfit? πŸ˜†

Since the Gon Dayglow mod is a direct duplicate of the Yun's mod, I got a little spare time to squeeze in another mod which is the Gon Velvet Rope. The mod is quite simple to transform the pair of stockings into skin layer. The result is shown in the image below and in the video.

Watch the video to see both outfits which I capture using the in-game Tailor Shop. Enjoy!

Blade & Soul - Nirvana (Yun Outfit) Mod

Around the same time when the request for Promise Keeper mod was made, another viewer requested for a Nirvana mod. So, in this week's post, we will have the Nirvana mod.

If you have seen the outfit and know the definition of Nirvana, you will probably be perplexed by how incompatible they actually are. How in the world did such a sexy outfit, with a full view of the under boobs, come to be known as Nirvana, which in Buddhist term refers to the highest state of attainment where one is formless, at eternal peace and free from the cycle of life and death (you can read more about this in the side note if you are interested).

The connection is actually made via a NPC by the name of Yunsang. Once the King of Thieves, Yunsang turned over a new leaf after the events of Heaven's Mandate in which Jinsoyun tried to bring forth the Dark Lord into the Earthen realm. After which, he decided to relinquish his leadership in the Lumang Syndicate and seek enlightenment at the Snowfrost monastery. He also appeared at Mushin's Tower Floor 20 to help train the Hongmoon hero. The tokens (Yunsang's prayer bead) that players pick up from Floor 16 - 20 can be used to exchange for the outfit and its sister "Mystic Monk". there is even a matching Yunsang hairstyle to go with it. πŸ˜†

If you are wondering how the outfit looks like, check below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The main color theme is a striking gold with some black, which is quite close to the yellow-orange color of a Buddhist monk's robe.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
But the exposed under boobs and legs certainly don't match the meaning of enlightenment. πŸ˜…

Rear View - Original Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
From the rear, everything seems fully covered though.

Right Side View - Original Outfit
The left side reveals almost the entire left leg.

Left Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
As it can be seen, the outfit is quite complicated with the layered robe, knots and ribbon. In my opinion, from the waist down, it is either total removal or no removal at all. That is, except the front and rear cloth that runs vertically downwards. The shirt portion is also tricky given how sexy it already is. And just for information, the mesh structure for the breasts are present so some people might have made a topless mod out of it.

For my mod, I tried to turn the shirt into a bikini top and also removed the three vertical cloths from the lower portion of the outfit.

Check the mod version below.

Front View - modified Outfit
In the image above, the front cloth is seen to be removed.

Front Close-up View 1 - modified Outfit
The belt has been trimmed downwards and a hole is 'opened' on the mid portion of the shirt to make it looks more like a bikini top.

Front Close-up View 2 - modified Outfit
The image above gives a clearer view of the mod on the shirt portion.

Rear View - modified Outfit
The two tail cloths have been removed as shown in the image above.

Rear Close-up View - modified Outfit
The back of the shirt is now only a horizontal line, which acts as the string for the bikini top.

Right Side Close-up View - modified Outfit

Right Side Close-up View - modified Outfit
The rest of the accessories remain intact.

That's all for this simple mod. Watch the video for the Yun Nirvana outfit and the white version of Gon "Ashes In the Falls".

Side Notes:

In Buddhism, all lifeforms are believed to be in a continuous cycle of birth, ageing, sickness and death, within the six realms of Divine, Asura, Human, Animal, Hungry Ghost and Hell. At the end of each life, we will be reborn into one of the six realms depending on our past deeds. It is in the Buddhist belief that all lives undergo suffering, even in the Divine realm. As such, Buddha seeks the path out of this unending cycle, through discipline, meditative calmness and wisdom. This path leads to Nirvana where one breaks free from this endless cycle of suffering to achieve eternal peace.

Blade & Soul - Promise Keeper (Jin Outfit) Mod

About two weeks ago, a viewer asked if I could do a mod for the Promise Keeper outfit, to shorten the coat and skirt, and I said I will give it a try. Normally a mod to trim an outfit would not be too difficult but given that the Promise Keeper is a customizable outfit, I cannot guarantee that it can work since I have never work on one. That is because if I mess up the customizable area versus the non-customizable area, the outfit might looks weird after player applies a customized look.

But as a promise keeper πŸ˜‰ , I did check it out and found it workable. So, in this week's post we have the Promise Keeper mod, not just for Jin but also for Gon and Yun. But I will only focus on the Jin mod, since the outfit is exactly same for all three races.

The Promise Keeper is a very new outfit given as a chance reward for the 2018 Golden Harvest Festival event, which has just ended at the writing of this post. It can be obtained by chance when spinning the Wheel of Fate at Hogshead Hamlet in the Moonwater Plains map, using a token that is given by chance when player opens yet another chest (or rather table πŸ˜† ). So you need to be double lucky to get the outfit. πŸ˜…  But if you are really that unlucky or want it for your other characters, you can always buy the pouch from the in-game marketplace.

The Promise Keeper actually has a very simple oriental look, with a split-tail coat worn over a cheongsam. There is a simple pattern at the front depicting two phoenixes worshipping a sun in the middle on the cheongsam. The edges of the cheongsam is terminated with thick silky golden linings. The split-tail coat is also embroidered with faint dragons patterns.

Let's take a look at the original outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The grey colored front-open coat is worn over the light purple cheongsam.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
The phoenix pattern can be seen at the front, just below where the coat is cut off.

Rear View - Original Outfit
The coat has a split tail design and extends further down than the cheongsam.

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
On the two tail cloths of the coat, we can also see a bird figure, that reminds me of the bird figure of the Nazca lines, on each side. However, they are blocked by the hair in the image above. You can see it better in the video.

Side View - Original Outfit
From the side view, the front of the coat can be seen to cut off squarely at the waist level, to reveal the slits on the sides of the cheongsam.

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
In the request, the viewer asked for the coat and cheongsam to be shortened, so that is what I did. Other than trimming the cheongsam and coat, I also adjusted the square cutting so that the front of the coat can link smoothly to the rear.

Let's look at the modified outfit below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As seen above, the cheongsam is now considerably shorter. The phoenix pattern has also been adjusted upwards to keep it complete.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The split tail of the coat and the rear cloth of the cheongsam has also been trimmed accordingly, with the coat ending before the cheongsam.

Eagle-eyed viewer my have noticed that I kept the square patterns at the edge of the cheongsam for the tail cloth but not the front.

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Unfortunately, I have to let go of the two Nazca bird patterns on the removed split tail.
Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
As seen from the two side views above, the front of the coat now slides gradually to the sides before meeting the rear edge.

We have reach the end of this post. Watch the video to see the outfit being customized for Jin, Gon and Yun.
