It has been three weeks since the last post and I can finally have enough time to get a mod and its accompanying video and post done. In this week's mod, we will see the two remaining versions of the Decked Out outfit for Gon and Jin. I have done the Yun Decked Out in the beginning of this year and a patron requested for the Jin and Gon versions just early this month. So let's get to it.
As seen in the Yun post, the Decked Out outfit has a Christmas vibe and is mostly cotton knitted. The cotton knitted red dress is worn over an inner black dress. The same goes for both the Gon and Jin versions since they all have the same appearance.
I personally do not own Decked Out on any of my characters since this outfit is not an in-game reward, and can only be bought using event token or from online Hongmoon store, when NCWest decides to do so. Therefore, I can only show them via the in-game Tailorshop. 😦 But the boon is that I can choose any head and face adornment to complement the outfit. 😅
Let's check out the original Gon and Jin Decked Out below, with Jin on the left side and Gon on the right side of the images.
Front View - Original Outfit
The cotton knitted red dress is split in the center front and back. A black inner dress can be seen beneath the red dress.

The hat that I use here is the Laidback Headpiece and the glasses is the Blue Glasses. 😅
Rear View - Original Outfit

A hoodie is attached to the top back of the red dress.
Side View - Original Outfit
As we can see, the Gon and Jin versions are the same as the Yun version.

For the mod, I wanted to be fair so I duplicated the Yun's mod over (actually, I might just be being lazy). 😅
First of all, I had the red dress trimmed to the thigh level. That also means that the length of the inner black dress has to be adjusted accordingly too.
Next, I trimmed the bra portion of the inner black dress lower and removed the two slings totally. Unfortunately, the star and crystal decorations attached to them have to go too.
Lastly, the bra portion of the red dress is 'cut off' or rather modified to a laced black layer to pass off as a part of the inner black dress. Somehow, the same 'cut out' on the Yun actually make a bigger hole on the Gon and Jin, so I had to cut less. 😅
The final result is as seen below, similarly with Jin on the left and Gon on the right.
Front View - Modified Outfit
As seen above, both the red cotton knit and inner black dress have been trimmed.

The slings and their decorations are also removed.
The 'cut out' can be seen more easily on the Gon version above.

With the removal of the crystal and star decoration, their duplications on the hoodie and shoes are gone too. 😰

With this, I can wrap up the Decked Out outfit for all three races.
Catch the video for a better look at the mod. But since I do not have the outfits, I can only capture them using the in-game Tailorshop. That limits how close I can get to the intended parts of the outfit so if you want to take a close look at the lace layer, you will need to have both the outfit and mod. 😥
Well, we have come to the end of this post. Hope to post another mod soon.
I've written too many requests and deleted it again sorry I watched videos on youtube, even the smallest request lasts 4-5 hours I think.

hi, your mods are really good. I'm also trying to mod myself. Can u give me some advices? I've exported the upk and i have 4 .tga files (D,M,N,S). How do you actually edit (cut, recolor) them? I've seen some guides but I'm still totally confused.
Ah I haven't watched it :D. And now I'm stuck where the dds images can't be rebuilded. I've named the folder with UPK number but it don't work. Where is the Export path actually?
I am not sure what you meant by cannot rebuild but the first time that you installed the UPKManager, you should go to Setting->Settings to set up the game path and export path. The game path is the folder containing 'content' for example, "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\BnS\contents\". The export path (anywhere you want except in the BnS folders incase that messes things up, an example can be "C:\mydocument\BnSmods\") is where the exported DDS files will be stored when you export an UPK file.
If your game path is set up correctly, the UPKManager will then be able to find and list all the UPK files and when you rebuild any UPKs, it will be placed into the folder at "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\BnS\contents\bns\CookedPC\mod".
You should cut and paste the repackaged file to the link I always indicate in my Readme.txt, so that the client will not prompt you that another file of same name exist whenever you start the game.
I've put the setting for example: C:\Games\BNS\contents\. I've clicked rebuild the package, but at the bottom left of the upk manager, it stays idle. The upk doesn't show up in C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\BnS\contents\bns\CookedPC\mod. Do you have any idea?
Do you actually have the game installed? UPKManager cannot work properly unless you have the game installed, due to reasons below.
Not sure whether the link "C:\Games\BNS\contents\" you said is the game path or export path. The export path can be any random folder but your game path MUST BE the actual game path, not any other random folder.
Because to rebuild a package, UPKManager needs to read all the UPKs in the game path, so you have to wait until the initial "loading game file" to change to "idle" before you can rebuild your package.
If you have used that link above as the game path and that it is not the actual game path, you cannot rebuild the package since UPKManager has nothing to refer to.
very nice works link please
ReplyDeleteThank you. Link has been added at bottom of post.

Do you mean keep everything on the original outfit but just without the red cloak?

Can you modify your pop art outfit for Jin and Gon?
