Blade & Soul - Unchallenged (Gon Outfit) Mod

We have finally arrived at the last piece of Unchallenged outfit, which is for the Gon race. The first piece was done for the Jin race somewhere in October 2018 but since it was not easily obtainable, I left out the mod for Gon and Yun. With the game updates, players can now purchase the outfit from the Zaiwei Achievement vendor after defeating the final boss in Irontech Forge - Chief Mechanizer Yoong under five minutes.

As such, I was able to obtain it for my Yun and therefore tried out the same Jin mod on it. A patron likes the mod and ask for a Gon version. And that led us here today.

Since our fate to own this outfit no longer lay in the hand of our RNG goddess and super rich whales 😅, I can easily get the outfit for my Gon. So I can finally make a video to show the outfit without using the in-game Tailorshop, which can get repetitive. 😆

By the way, 'whales' originally refers to those top gear players who bought in-game stuff, to gear/power up their characters, by spending real life currencies. But the line has blurred to refer to any top gear players. 😆

As seen in the two previous Unchallenged mod posts, we know the Gon version would look exactly the same. But let's review the original outfit below for the sake of non-players.

The same black colored coat and spiky armor pieces can be seen above.

The power pack and cable are also present.

And also the huge metallic glove on the right hand.

To be fair to the three races, I made the Gon mod similar to the Jin and Yun. Or maybe just being lazy. 😩

The mod involves removing the extra armor pieces with spikes, the power cable and the vertical center portion at the back of the coat.

Although the outfit is similar, I found out that the meshes may not be exactly located at the same position on the texture. It is understandable that the skin layer may be different on the texture, due to the inherent different in the body shapes of the three races. Most of the time, the armor/outfit pieces can be found in the same location.

However, some of the pieces for the Unchallenged outfit are not found at the same location so I cannot do a easy copy/paste delete from the Jin or Yun texture. So, some of the deletions need to be traced and erased manually like working on a new outfit. 😩 On top of that, not forgetting the recoloring of skin layer due to shadows.

Front View - Modified Outfit
The spiky armor pieces on the abdomen and thighs have been removed.

The bra has also been trimmed a little and the metal cap, which was blocking the mouth, near the neck area has been removed.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The vertical center portion at the back of the coat has been erased.

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
No more hindering power cable too. 😅

Right Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Hmm... Although the mod outfit is similar for all three races, it seems the Gon version looks best. Is it just my imagination or the effect of the Gon body shape? 😕

Anyway, this brings us to the end of the Unchallenged mod. Watch the video to have a closer look at the modified outfit.

After making so many mod videos, I was beginning to wonder if anyone actually appreciate the videos for entertainment or just checking out the mods and abruptly stopping the video halfway. This thought arises because in YouTube, I can see the average view time and how far into the clip was watched, of the individual videos. I realized not many watch the entire video and is wondering whether I should still make full video clips like these. 😕

Blade & Soul - Unchallenged (Yun Outfit) Mod

Just end of March, a patron shared the news that the Unchallenged outfit has been added to the list of outfits sold by the Zaiwei Achievement vendor. This is good news indeed since we no longer need to pray to the RNG goddess (for it to drop) and hope additionally that no one else in the party would bid against you for the outfit. 😅

Now, players just need to defeat Yoong, the final boss in Irontech Forge, under five minutes and they can purchase it from the vendor for three high quality fabrics. These fabrics can be easily obtained by salvaging certain outfits or just bought off the in-game marketplace. And with the recent level sixty cap, the achievement is not out of reach for most players.

With the ease of getting this outfit now, I decided to buy it for my Yun character and test out the same Jin mod on the Yun's for this next mod.

All the details about this outfit has been mentioned in my previous Jin Unchallenged post, so I will go straight to the Yun outfit, which looks exactly the same like the Jin's and Gon's.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
As seen above, the Yun outfit is made up of the same full black leather parts, such as the full length coat and leg guards. The armor is also littered with spikes and maybe that is why the outfit is called Unchallenged. Would you challenge a hedge hog to a fight? 😆

Rear View - Original Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
The same power pack, huge metal glove and the power cable can be seen above.

As with the Jin mod, I similarly removed the power cable and most of the spiky armor pieces. The bra area was also trimmed a little and the mid vertical portion at the back of the coat was removed.

I also tried to trim the metal glove to remove the protrusion but that will leave a hole, so the idea is aborted.

The end result looks very similar to the Jin mod. Let's have a look below.

The armor pieces on the mid torso have been removed as seen in the images above.

We can see just a little more of the underboobs after the bra area is trimmed. 😅

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Similarly, the power cable and mid portion of the coat is no more.

With the mod, you might face more challengers, now that most of the menacing spikes are gone. 😆

This will wrap up the Yun Unchallenged outfit mod. Check out the video which was taken in the newly introduced region - Moon Refuge in the Solak map.

Blade & Soul - Unchallenged (Jin Outfit) Mod

It has been one month since the request for Jin Unchallenged outfit was brought up by an unknown viewer (well... the user name is "Unknown" 😆 ). But due to previous requests on my list and rotation between the three races, I can only get it done now. 😓

There are still several requests on my list and I cannot decide how to (or unable) to mod some of these, such as the Lyn North Star, Yun Varsity, Gon Blackram Officer Uniform. And there is this Fight Night outfit that I somehow cannot find in the UPKs.

Well, enough about my list. Now, let us get back to the Jin Unchallenged outfit, which can only be obtained by defeating the final boss, Chief Mechanizer Yoong, in the Irontech Forge dungeon in hard mode.

The Irontech Forge is an advance bio-research laboratory cum factory serving the Talus Dominion. Between Jinsoyun's defeat and the transition of power in the Talus Dominion, the Iron Conqueror seized the opportunity to instigate a rebellion in the forge. Claiming it as his own and using it to produce highly advance weaponry that can be equipped by soldiers to greatly improve their fighting capabilities.

Worried that the Iron Conqueror will produce an unstoppable army that can level the Earthen Realm, Empress Yunma Fei of the Talus recruited the Hongmoon hero to put a stop to his ambition before it gets out of control.

Before the party face off with Yoong, they get to watch a cutscene introducing the Iron Conqueror and Yoong, which I think is one of the coolest villain introduction cutscene in Blade & Soul. You can check out the cutscene below.

The Unchallenged outfit is a full black latex (or polished leather) outfit enhanced with spiky armor pieces and a full length coat of same material. Being the Chief Mechanizer, the Unchallenged outfit has a power pack on the back that channels soulstone energy to a huge metallic glove on the right arm. Does that sound bad ass enough to you? Check the outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
We can see plenty of spikes, on the thighs, right side of the bra and glove, in the close up image above. The 'teeth' at the edges of the armor pieces add on to the bad ass-ness of the outfit.

Rear View - Original Outfit
A better look at the full length coat.

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
Over the rear images, the power pack can be seen connected to the right arm with a tube glowing with blue energy.

Right Side View - Original Outfit

Right Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The huge metallic glove can be seen on the right arm. The introduction cutscene actually show how these components are fitted onto Yoong's outfit. 😎

Hmm... so what did I do for the mod?

Well, first of all, I pulled the plug to remove the power transfer tube between the power pack and the glove (Hey! It is a wireless age, you know? 😝 ). Followed by reducing the bad ass-ness, by removing the armor pieces and spikes, but not all of them though. I did keep the spikes on the bra and glove. The coat and bra were also trimmed a little.

Let's check out the mod version below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As seen above, the armor pieces on the tummy region and thighs have been removed.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
However, the original pair of panties looks weird (like a floating diaper 😰 ) after the rest of the armor pieces are gone. So, I took it off and redraw a pair of panties directly onto the skin layer below.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
As seen above, the center portion of the coat has been cut out to reveal a little of the back and the power transfer tube is also removed.

Left Side View - Modified Outfit

Left Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Does the outfit looks a little less menacing now that spikes and 'teethy' armor pieces are removed? 😅

As mentioned earlier, this outfit can only be obtained in the Irontech Forge hard mode dungeon and the chance for the outfit to drop is still pretty low. As such, I also do not own that outfit and can only show the mod in the in-game Tailor shop. Hope you can get a good enough view in the video. 😥
