AION - Evangale Divine Hauberk Mod

Since the beginning of this blog, this is the first time that I actually touch on an Abyss armor. For those readers who don't play AION but are curious about what an Abyss armor is; It is an armor set that provides PvP (Player vs Player) stats and is only obtainable by, well, doing PvP of course! But there are also other ways such as participating in sieges and doing certain PvP or PvB (Player vs Balaur) dungeons.

Although I have used the name "Evangale Divine Hauberk" for this post, this same skin is also applied to "Special Emissary's Divine Hauberk". The difference is that the former is meant for Clerics (magic class) and the latter for Chanter (melee class). And the reason I chose the former name is because... it is shorter.   :p

Anyway, all Abyss armor sets are unique in designs and available to characters of certain level range such as level 30, 40, 50, 55, 60 and most recently 65. This particular armor set is for characters level 65 and above.

 

As for why I did not mod an Abyss armor till now, hmmm... I have no idea too!  D:   Maybe it is because I just can't get my hands on so many sets for all the different classes (plate, chain, leather and cloth). The amount of time and effort needed to be put in to get even one full set is tremendous. The latest ones would require millions of AP (Abyss Points) and hundreds of medals.    >.<"

 

So, let's get down to the mod by first appreciating the original armor.

Based on the images above, we can definitely see that it is a shiny white armor and a very "protective" one too.  :p   It also has a blue unicorn on the chest area and 3 unicorn horns dangling at the end of the 3 pieces of cloth that ran down the legs.

 

As usual, I "unprotected" the leggy legs by trimming the cloth on the front and back but kept the 3 long pieces that ran down her legs because I like the 3 unicorn horns.  XD

 

Of course, I also did not forget about my current favorite style - transparency~  :D   And it works quite well here, complimenting the blue unicorn on her chest, which nicely covers the center portion.

Other than my addiction to leggy legs, seems like I have gotten a new addiction to transparency... Fortunate or unfortunate?    >.<

AION - Kunax's Tunic Mod

Welcome back to today's post on Kunax's Tunic. I have actually thought about this armor for quite some time, but it is already so nice and sexy that it is difficult to "beautify" it any further, except maybe going nude, which definitely not what I will do.    DX    

But in AION 5.1, NCSoft finally made this really rare armor more accessible by applying it to a new armor set, namely the "Forgotten Reian" series, which can be traded to other players. Not sure if you guys can remember my rantings about how difficult it was to obtain this armor skin in my previous post "Kunax's Hauberk".

So what better time to have this mod when more people can now wear this armor.  :p    Finally I summoned enough courage to challenge it. 

 

If you are wondering how nice is this armor that I have problem finding fault or trying to modify it, see for yourself.  XD

I can't find any fault with this armor except for that "Harley Quinn" styled leggings.  XD  

But what's a "Harley Quinn" styled leggings? It may not be obvious here because her right leg is mostly covered by the cloth running down her right thigh. So I have attached another image here from a... well... awkward angle.  DX

Bottom View - Original Armor

As you can see, her right leg is sporting a black stockings while her left leg is mainly of skin color. Kind of remind me of Harley Quinn's double toned hair style. You can look up Harley Quinn from DC Comics, if you are still wondering what she looks like. But if you are lazy, well, AION has it's very own Harley Quinn hairstyle too!  Take a look below.   :p

Two-Tone Hair style

The 3 hairstyles ("Two Tone Soul", "Two Tone Trouble" and "Two Tone Bob") are actually hat armor skins that can be re-skinned to the player's hat. But while this kind of style looks great on the head, it doesn't looks quite right on a legging so it will be the first thing to be modified by me.   >.<

As for other modifications that I done on this armor? Look below.

Second mod is to trim the cloth on her right thigh. Why hide a leg after taking off the stockings, right?  :p

Next, the cloth covering her butt got to go too.

Finally, modifying the bra from a plain color to permanent gold, and removing the top part and the bra stripes.

And since I have been playing around with transparency for past few mods, I did not forget to apply transparency to the side of bra to make it even sexier.  :p

AION - Astronaut's Costume

Hello everyone and welcome back for the first post of the week. In this post, I'll be showing a mod that I have done on the Astronaut's costume. As for the reason why I chose this costume; it is because I wanted to perform an extended experiment on transparent material.  XD  If you guys can remember, I had tested partial transparent material on the "Adma Jerkin" and translucent material on the "Archangel Outfit" last week. And so, this time round, I wanted to see how that will look on a full costume.

 

However, I am not talking about just simply making a surface "disappear". As we can recall in my post on "Remodeled Danuar Helm", I had talked about how material cannot be made translucent unless they are specified so, in the material meta data. Thus, for any material that exist above the skin surface, we can only either make them "disappear" (provided that does not leave a hole   ~.~  ), redesign them in color/pattern or simply leave them alone. We cannot turn that material into a transparent, glossy glass-like surface that reveals the skin below, if it wasn't specified in the meta data.

The type of transparency that I am talking about here is for skin-tight material, where the material is basically wrapped tightly around the body. Thus, not every armor or costume can be used for the purpose of this transparency mod. Although, there are also several other costumes that can fit the criteria, such as the "Burlesque Bunny" (a.k.a. Playboy Bunny) or the many swimsuits, the factor that led me to choose the "Astronaut's Costume" is that it not only allows me to test the full body transparency but it also has patterns running on the suit that conveniently cover those sensitive areas, and that's a plus because it saves me the huddle of finding ways to hide those areas. In other words.... lazy~~     XD

 

So many words... I am not sure if you guys can understand what they mean so let's look at the before and after images to get a clearer picture.


I had chosen the dungeon named "Aturam Skyfortress" for the image and video shoot as it kind of resembles a space port with the Balaur battleship "Dredgion" in the background.

From the above image, I guess you guys can now understand what I meant when I say there are patterns that conveniently cover the sensitive areas?  :p

Not sure is it just me, but for some reason, I felt that the mesh at the butt area of the costume was deliberately designed to be flat. Maybe some other AION player can confirm this?   XD

So... Has anyone already started to imagine what the costume will look like when made transparent? Well... no need to imagine because the answer is below.  :p

There we go, all transparent and glossy except for those blue lines running along the suit. It may not be obvious due to the specular reflection on the chest area but the tummy area will show more skin color. And notice the neck area which I left unmodified because of the constraints I mentioned earlier? The ideal modification is to turn it into a translucent material without skin color but I can only either make it disappear or re-color it. If I ever try to do the same thing to it, that I had done for the rest of the costume, wouldn't you agree that it will look weird?   D:

Hmm... What do we have here? Why place a "V" shape pattern on the butt?

Well... Like the neck area, the butt also needed special treatment. Err... That just sounded wrong?  >.<    Anyway, the explanation here is that since the costume is plastic-like material and transparent, would you agree that we will be looking at her butt line if the "V" shape is not there? And since the butt line is actually a 3D groove structure (well, we all know what a butt line looks like so there is no need for me to describe in details   :p  ), it cannot be simply drawn onto the 2D surface of the material. Therefore, I chose to conceal the butt line with a pattern on the material.

AION - Adma Jerkin Mod

Hello and welcome back to AION Skin Mod! For this week's mod, we'll be looking at a leather armor from AION 5.0, namely the "Adma Jerkin". This chest armor drops off the last boss in the "Adma's Fall" dungeon and shared the same model with several others such as "Laboratory Jerkin" and "Boundless" armor set.

 

Hmm... There's no particular reason why I chose this armor except that it has been on my mind for quite some time now. Or maybe because it's plate, chain and cloth counterparts all look much nicer and I'm disgruntled as a leather user.    ~.~" 

 

Anyway, let's first take a look at the original armor and maybe you will agree with me.

So, as you can see it is a tight fit, almost full body armor, which looks like some sort of patchwork (at least in my opinion). And those fins by the legs are like.... totally unnecessary?    -.-"

 

Readers who have followed this blog might guess what I will do to the pants... Something like turning it into a panties style to show off those leggy legs? Well.... wrong! Finally, I have managed to fight off the temptation to modify every pants into panties.... Or at least for this armor...   XD  

 

So, what else can I do to make the armor more appealing? Well, like I had mentioned before the armor looks like it was put together using several different pieces. So what I did was to totally remove one color (black) and turn those areas into a transparent plastic looking surface.

 

Compare these images below and maybe it is easier to understand.

As can be seen on the above images, the black leather areas have been transformed into glassy transparent surfaces showing her skin color. And although I really hate those fins, I just can't remove them because they leave holes when removed!  >.<"    So I kind of, have to live with them, letting them disfigure that beautiful glassy surface.  D:  The only thing I can do is to recolor them to gold so that they can at least fit into the picture.

 

For eagle-eye readers, you may have also noticed something that I had done on the bra of the armor. Yes... The bra is actually also transparent... But I am not that evil and did redesigned the patterns on it to hide the center portion.  XD

 

So do you guys agree the armor looks a little more appealing now?  :D

AION - Archangel Outfit

AION 5.1 has just been released in NA and I guess NCSoft has injected even more armors and costumes because the name (Mesh_Textures_100) that I normally used for my additional mods has been overridden.  O.O    Eventually, we'll get to see what they have added, but for now, let's just look at a costume from AION 5.0.

 

In the previous post, you may have been wowed by the "Archangel Outfit". Well... At least I did.   XD   So, I will look into the outfit for this mod; I mean how can I possibly pass on such a nice outfit, right?

 

Let us refresh our memories of this outfit which has a kind of ancient Roman and Celtic design essence. The most striking feature is, of course, that wide-open-in-mid concept. I still can't get over how the cloth covered only half of each breast. In accordance with Murphy's law, they will probably keep slipping off and exposing the full breast, with any kind of slightly rigorous movement.   ~.~

 

But hey! this is a game skin and who would care about physics or Murphy's law being applied to a game skin?

So, what can I mod for this already very sexy skin? Well, first of all, the 2 pieces of cloth dangling down from her waist, on the front and back, need to go. However, I kind of like the design of the gold patterned lines on the cloth so I decided to remove the cloth while keeping the lines.

Next, I can make it even sexier by making everything translucent!  :p    But I am not that evil... yet... So I think I'll just make the 2 most intriguing cloth around the breasts look translucent.  XD

After the mod, the cloth wrapping around her breasts will now change color slightly according to the chosen body color. It may not be very obvious here due to her fair skin color but I have tested with darker skin color and... it works!

 

But hmm... Is there something missing over here? 

 

We definitely know what's missing but no, I am not putting the nipples in there because I'm really bad at that!    D:   If anyone is bold enough to give it a try, you can further mod my mod (because it rhymes  :p  ), but be warned that the texture around those region is drastically stretched so whatever you placed there might look weird. I know because I tried... -.-"

In order to pre-appease those who will be raging at me for the missing nipples, I gave the cloth a little nipple bump instead. Hope that will get me off the hook.   >.<

You can also treat the cloth as, not translucent, but just automatically aligning itself with body color.  XD

AION - Veteran Hunter's Jerkin Mod

Welcome back to AION Skin mod and today we'll be looking at an old armor set, all the way from AION 2.0. The "Veteran Hunter" armor sets are sold by the Fortuneers organization and can only be bought using the Fortuneer tokens, which are given as rewards for completing their daily/weekly tasks. There are several reason why I had chosen to mod this old armor and it's a long story from the new "Archangel Outfit" to the "Stormbringer Regalia".

So, the story goes like this... When the "Archangel Outfit" was released in AION NA 5.0, I had my first look at it and I go "Oh my! This can work?". I mean there're only 2 pieces of cloth running down from the shoulder, covering a little more than half of each breast and leaving the center and lower portion of the torso wide open.   O.O  Take a look at the outfit and decide for yourself.

If you are wondering how is it related to the "Veteran Hunter" armor, the 2nd part of the story goes like this... That total open-mid-concept design somehow triggers my memory of the "Stormbringer Regalia", which I can say is somewhat opposite of this design, with center portion covered while leaving the sides open. Then I think to myself, why not do something like the "Stormbringer Regalia" but following that "stingy" style (of only covering half-half) of the "Archangel Outfit". And there you are, the idea is born!

Finally, I have to find an armor that has the mesh (surface structure) that allows me to carry out the mod. If you are asking why don't I just use the "Stormbringer Regalia" since I'm doing something similar to it? Well, the problem with the outfit is that I cannot afford to be stingy on the material because there is nothing below the cloth. This means that if I were to trim even slightly on the cloth, we will be looking at holes..  ~.~

So, I started to look at some armor skins and found the "Veteran Hunter's Jerkin" that can fit my criteria. It has a cloth running from neck to lower abdomen and covering the cleavage while maintaining the shape of the breasts on the side and bottom. It also has nice decoration on the left waist that I had decided to keep.

Let's take a look at the original armor so you can better understand what I meant.

With the target armor chosen, I got off to work on it by trimming the torso and stripping the arm. What's left of the armor combined with the pants that I had modified previously for use in Jungle Jane Outfit, became a sexy bare-back party skirt.   XD

After looking at the images, would you guys agree that the modified armor looks like a really sexy party blouse? 

Eagle eyes viewer may also notice that I was less stingy with the cloth on the left side. The reason is that if I were to trimmed the cloth on the left side anymore towards the center, it would inevitably partly reveal the cleavage (while there is none on the mesh); and that would makes the mod looks weird.

Hmmm.... the other way to make the left side equally sexy is to shift the top of the cloth towards the bottom center of her neck. Would you guys prefer that?  :p

AION - Dark Lord's Breastplate

In today's post, I'll be showing a mod on the Dark Lord's Breastplate. For many people, the first antagonist to come to mind when "Dark Lord" is mentioned, is probably Voldemort from Harry Potter series. In AION, however, "Dark Lord" refers to Beritra who is the second Dragon lord to be faced by players. This armor drops off Beritra's arm in "Drakenspire Depths" dungeon. Why is it dropped off an arm? Well, Beritra was defeated in the battle but managed to fled with a relic, leaving behind a severed arm which players loot for goodies.  >.<

 

This armor is still pretty rare in game even after AION 5.0 has been released and unfortunately, unlike the Tiamat armor set, the Dark Lord's set was not sold on Black Cloud Marketplace. Thus, players who are lucky enough to get the tradable version from events, "looted" other players for kinah (in-game currency) by selling them for hundreds of million each.   ~.~ 

 

Well, enough talk about the rarity of this armor skin. Let's look at what the original armor is like.

From the images, you can see that this plate armor is beautiful and sexy in a way. It also has special effects on the back where a shadowy dragon head fades in and out on the top, and black smoky fumes emitting around the "tail".

 

So what can I modify on this already beautiful armor?

 

Hmmm... First of all, I want to make it even sexier by removing the translucent back cloth that is covering her front right torso and upper right thigh. But doing so on the right thigh alone, leaving the left leg with full length pants, looks weird. Thus, I might as well modify the pants into panties style... again...  ~.~

 

Next, I went looking at her bra armor, intending to remove the bra on her left breast since there is already a dragon head covering it; but realized that the uneven bra surface is actually a mesh structure which is embedded onto the skin surface; and thus, I cannot simply replace the bra with skin color, as that will give a rough surface instead of a smooth contour needed for the breast.  >.<

To make matter worse, the skin surface for her right breast is actually missing!  D:  That means that if I removed the right bra, we will be looking at a hole!  >.<

With little options for the bra, I decided to modify it into some sort of a clip-on-bra. But that sadly failed and it got turn into a shiny white bra with high reflectivity instead.... But it doesn't looks so bad I guess, so I kept it...  XD

Anyway, let's look at the modified armor in the images below.

Oh, if you are curious about where these images are taken in-game, it is in an Oriel village with its very own infinity pool (Or a pool that closely resembles one that is)! This very large open concept pool, which I think will be really cool if it is a real life one, is located just next to a beach. You can see more of the pool in the video.   :D
