Blade & Soul - Courtesan (Yun Outfit) Mod

Following two consecutive Gon mods, I think it is time to do one for another race. Therefore, we have the Yun Courtesan mod in this week's post, since a patron requested for this about half a month ago.

There are also some requests for Gon male outfit mods but I am not quite sure how to make a male character outfit sexier. 😰 According to the patron, making the pants into swimming trunks and having open chest shirt can do the trick. But wouldn't that just be swim wear that players can buy in game? 😵 I remember a piece of swim wear (Summer Time) that totally fits that description. 😆

However, I still check through the Gon male outfits that the patron listed but unfortunately, none of those can have their pants trimmed. The fact is, most of the male outfits in the game have loose clothing and there is basically no mesh structure under those loose pants or shirts. This means that trimming or removing them would leave arms or leg with missing parts. 😦

I also do not pay much attention to male outfit so I am not sure of what other male outfits I can play around with. So I guess I will skip male outfits for the time being. 😰

Well, coming back to the Yun Courtesan. The information about this outfit can be found in the Jin Courtesan post, so I will not repeat those details here. Instead, let's immediately take a look at the original version in the images below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The Yun Courtesan looks exactly the same as the Jin's and Gon's version.

The red rose by the waist, laced half shirt, orange half dress, translucent stocking and metallic frame are similarly present in the Yun outfit.

For the Yun mod, I did the same changes as I did in the Jin and Gon. That includes trimming the orange dress, removing the laced shirt, as well as the stockings.

Although the outfits of the three races looks the same, the Yun version took more work because some of the skin layers are split at difficult areas. the shoulders and upper arm connection, for example, are split into three parts and trying to smooth out the color at their edges was a nightmare. The other troublesome area is the crotch/thighs/butt region. Even after many tries, some artifacts still remain. 😨

The color smoothing is not an issue in the original outfit because those areas were initially hidden beneath the laced layer and stocking. Those areas initially also have darker tone because of shadows, so recoloring them to normal skin color is necessary after the pieces are removed.

Let's check out the modified outfit in the images below.

The image above shows the outfit after the stockings have been removed and dress trimmed.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The laced shirt has been trimmed to leave the only the collar portion so it can hold the beautiful trinket at the back.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The left butt cheek sticking out after the mod looks cute. 😈

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Maybe because of the inherent Yun body structure? 😆

Left Side View - Modified Outfit
The left side view looks really 'clean' except for the metallic frame and two strings. 😅

Left Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Well, we have reached the end of this post. Enjoy the video which was capture in the new Moon Refuge map and take a closer look at that cute left hip. 😆.

I apologize for the color in the video if you find it kinda off. That is because I tried to remove the inherent blueish color that is present in every scenes in the map.

Blade & Soul - Courtesan (Gon Outfit) Mod

Soon after I made and posted the Jin Courtesan mod, a patron asked if there is one for Gon. Since, it is time for a Gon mod this week, I guess we can proceed with it. As mentioned in the Jin Courtesan post, this outfit is first made for NPC Namsoyoo and she is of the Jin race. From the fact that the Gon UPK files are located far from the Jin one, I can guess that NCSoft had not initially want to make it available for players but eventually decided to do so. After all, beautiful and sexy outfit is a big hit with players and I personally know of some who will try to get hold of almost every outfits. 😅

Maybe that is why we can see NCSoft has started releasing some of those outfits, worn by NPC, which players like me can only drool at before their release. Some of these outfits are Loose Cannon worn by Soha, True Shot worn by her brother - Leerok (almost mistyped as Leeroy over there 😆 ), Inn Keeper worn by Yehara, Withering Flower and Dark Emissary worn by Jinsoyun, and much more. I wonder if Yura's snake skin outfit will ever be released too. 😍

Anyway, the information regarding the Courtesan outfit has already been discussed in the Jin post, so let us go straight to look at the original Gon Courtesan below. Since it is an NPC outfit, it is expected to look exactly the same for all races. Of course, male character will not have this outfit available to them. After all, the Heart Surgeon and Angel crossdressing series for male character is already 😱 enough so let's hope it will not continue to these other outfits. 😩😖

As we can verify above, the outfit is exactly the same with similar stocking, laced shoulder-arm, metallic frame, right up to the red rose hanging by the right side of the waist.

Rear View - Original Outfit
The unique half dress can also be seen in the Gon version.

The dress at the hip seems to have a hump due to the intrinsic shape of Gon's body.

Although the Jin's and Gon's outfits look the same, there is significant difference in the mesh. For example, while the mesh of the butt and underboob are missing for the Jin's model, the Gon's model has them intact. As such, it allows for more freedom in the mod.

The complete inclusion of the butt (in the Gon's model) allows me to drop the top part of the chain stocking, which I had initially retained to compliment the horizontal protrusion of the panties for the Jin mod. With the mesh intact, I can now safely trim down the horizontal protrusion of the Gon's panties to make it less obvious and thus, I don't need to retain the stocking.

On the other hand, I did not make more use of the bra area although the underboob's mesh is intact. The reason being that the mesh for a point, on the breast, is missing. I think you can guess which point is that. Sometimes, this was done to prevent the mesh of the tips of the skin layer from protruding out and showing above the outfit, especially for those body hugging outfits such as swim wears.

This is because in a game, the designer has to minimize the mechanism call 'collision detection' which prevents character from running through walls, for example. If the game tries to do that for all outfits on every characters, it will probably crash or become really sluggish due to enormous amount of detections required.

So this is one of the reason why some of the body parts that are hidden below outfits are removed; the other being to reduce game's file size in order to save disk space.

Looks like I have gone off topic again, so let's focus back on the mod. Check it out below.

The stockings and laced layer on the shoulder has been removed as seen in the image above.

The half dress has also been trimmed, like in the Jin's mod.

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The retained laced layer for the collar and black frame added at the corners of the modified dress is the same as that of the Jin's mod.

Left Side View - Modified Outfit
As we can see in the image above and below, no part of the stockings was retained, unlike the Jin's mod.

Left Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Unfortunately, the translucent cloth obscure the left side of the panties so we cannot see the protrusion that I have mentioned earlier. Luckily you may be able to verify that in the video below.

Sadly, I do not have this outfit on my Gon so I can only show the mod using the in-game Tailor Shop. 😥

Blade & Soul - Courtesan (Jin Outfit) Mod

After clearing out the list of requests, I finally got time to work on an outfit that I have been thinking about for a long time. The Courtesan outfit is considered one of the oldest outfit in game, making its first appearance on Namsoyoo when she was lured by Jinsoyun to the capital of the Talus Dominion. Being promised to be made the Empress, she was nothing but a vase ready to be shattered as a sacrificial lamb for the Heavens Mandate. As such, the outfit is not given a glorious Empress-related name but Courtesan, which I think is quite befitting.

The outfit was first made available to players during a sale or event (I am not 100% sure) in year 2018; and it is, as of the time of this post, available through the Legendary Outfit Chest sold in Hongmoon store. These outfit chests, as described in an earlier post, gives a random outfit out of a list of fifteen; and Courtesan is one of them. However, this outfit is special because it is bind-on-equip, and such it can be sold on the in-game marketplace or traded between players. Since I got my hands on it, I figure that I should mod it right away. 😆

Although what I mentioned above seem to imply that the outfit is not befitting of an Empress, the Courtesan is in fact a beautiful and classy outfit. We can verify this in the images of the original outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit
The main part of the outfit is a bronze colored metallic frame that covers the chest area and wraps around to the crotch and back.

A piece of silky orange cloth seems to make up a half-side dress that covers the right side of the torso and the right leg.

It also sports a pair of translucent stockings and a laced shirt that only covers the shoulder and both arms.

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
The outfit is further adorned by a red rose on the right side of the waist, a pair of metallic bracer that wraps around the wrists on both hands and other trinkets.

Rear View - Original Outfit
A strip of orange translucent cloth drapes from the trinket at the top-center of the back and flows down to the ankles.

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
The extension of metallic frame from the chest also forms the panty. A metallic panty... 😲

Do you agree that the outfit is beautiful and classy? 😅

For the mod, I wanted to simplify the outfit, so I removed the pair of translucent stockings and laced shirt. However, the orange half-dress does not look that nice without the pair of stockings so I tried to remove it as well. Unfortunately, there is a hole at the abdomen area so I can only trim the half dress, instead of total removal.

Upon removal of the stockings, the metallic panty on the left thigh looks a bit strange with its horizontal protrusion. So, I trimmed the horizontal extension of the panty and also kept part of the stockings to act as continuation.

Now, let us look at what the outfit has become.

Front View - Modified Outfit
As seen, the pair of stockings and the laced shirt has been removed.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The half-dress was also trimmed. The front was seen to have been trimmed too much because the area below that actually slides inward towards the crotch area, instead of flowing straight down. So I had to cut it to that length. 😓

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
We can see part of the retained stockings that I use to smooth out the horizontal protrusion from the metallic panty.

Left Side View - Modified Outfit
The left side view looks empty without the orange cloth.

Overall, I am not fully satisfied with the mod because in exchange for a sexy feel, the classiness is lost. Well... can't have the cake and eat it... 😰

With this, I will wrap up the Jin Courtesan mod here. Check out the video for closer views.
