Blade & Soul - Steel Heart (Gon Outfit) Mod

The first time I did a Steel Heart mod was for the Yun race back in Dec 2017. But just earlier this month, a patron picked that up and asked if I can do a Gon version. Looking back at the Yun mod, I finally awaken to the reality of how long I have been mod-ding and sharing the mods. 😅

It has been a year and a half since I moved on from AION  and started mod-ding Blade & Soul outfits. And if the time spent mod-ding AION is included, it would make it two and half years by now. I wonder how much longer I can keep this going. 😫

It feels like it was just yesterday when I talked about the Steel Heart outfit and how it resembles the one worn by the main character in the Blade & Soul animation, in the Yun post. How fast time pass us by. 😲

If you have forgotten what I had done for the Yun Steel Heart mod, you can refresh your memory in the link above.

Blade & Soul has come a long way since then and in one of the in-game events, this outfit along with a few others are given in abundance to players who participated in the Fortune Falls event. I guess almost every player would own one on at least one of their characters.

Let's first take a look at the original Gon Steel Heart below.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
The Gon's Steel Heart looks exactly like the Yun's version with translucent leggings that gives off a slight skin color.

Rear View - Original Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit
The same translucent tail cloth can be seen at the back.

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
In the mod, I applied the same design of transferring the translucent layer from the leggings to the torso, while recoloring the legs to skin layer.

So, without further delay, let's check out the mod version in the images below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
Those leggy legs are now skin color. 😅

And the original grey layer on the torso has now been modified to a translucent layer similar to the original leggings. In case, you can't see it clearly, here's another closer view.

Rear View - Modified Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
Similarly, I kept the entire hot pants because it is on a different layer and attempting to change it to skin layer would result in discontinuity between the butt cheek and thighs. 😥

I guess that rounds up this mod. You can watch the video for closer view and be envious of my new cat paw axe 😍 that I got from the recent Hongsil Storehouse event. 😝

Blade & Soul - Ghost In The Shell (Yun Outfit) Mod

It has been around two months since I made the Gon Ghost In The Shell mod. Following the mod, there were requests for the same mod for Jin and Yun. I had already made the Jin's version and included it as part of the Spellbinder mod post. So that leaves the Yun's version which we will be seeing in this post.

All the details about the outfit has already been talked about in the previous Gon's Ghost In The Shell post. However, did I ever mention that the Ghost In The Shell outfit actually has a sister outfit called Vasharti Brigade General Plate armor in Aion? I did not like that charcoal black torso, when I was playing Aion, so I mod it into a golden bra on skin layer. 😅

And in case you missed out on my previous posts, it is the leather version of the Vasharti Brigade General armor family, the Vasharti Brigade General Jerkin, a.k.a. sister of Ashes In The Falls, that drew me into Blade & Soul. Wow! Is it just coincidence that these outfits and armors have such long names and that same charcoal black torso? 😅

It has been a long time since I played Aion but it seems that NCSoft has taken the new storyline to mobile, which is their prime source of income. And in the near future, the same might happen to Blade and Soul. I just hope they can continue the new story on PC, instead of migrating everything to mobile because I prefer playing on a PC to a mobile phone with such small screen size. 😰

Well, enough chatter. Let's take a look at the original Yun Ghost In The Shell below.

Front View - Original Outfit
Same charcoal black torso. 😅

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit

Rear View - Original Outfit
The center gap between the two sets of fins seems bigger than the Gon and Jin. Maybe due to the difference in Yun's body frame.

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
As seen above, the original outfit looks exactly the same as that of the Gon and Jin.

For the modified outfit, I made it like the Gon's and Jin's version, as per request. In addition, I also removed the ghost face, tail fins, shoulder guards and some accessories just as in the case of the Jin mod.

You probably know or can imagine what the mod would look like but let's take a peek below.

Front View - Modified Outfit
A 'hole' has been 'opened' on the charcoal black torso, revealing the lower center of the chest and abdomen area.

Front Close-up View - Modified Outfit
An opening is also made to the inner thighs.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The opening on the inner thighs extends to the butt area and is now in full view after the removal of the tail fins. 😅

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit

Side View - Modified Outfit
The ghost face has been removed like in the Jin's mod.

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
The shoulder guards has been removed as well.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed the significant difference in color tone on the body and face. This is something that I can't really figure out. Even though I darkened the body region, the difference (in color) still remains visible and I suspect it might be something outside of the texture files. 😓

Maybe some players can test this on their characters with different skin tone and see the difference.

Last but not least, you can check the video below for an all round view.

Blade & Soul - Nirvana (Jin Outfit) Mod

Finally, we have come to the end of the Nirvana series, which is, of course, for the Jin race. Most of the information about this outfit and how its name came to be, can be found in the Yun Nirvana post.

Although the outfit looks exactly the same as that of the Gon's and Yun's, the Jin's version has an entirely different mesh structure. While the Yun's and Gon's texture is a rectangle of 1024x512 pixels, the Jin's texture file come in a square format of 1024x1024 pixels. This, of course, means that simply copying and pasting, from the Gon or Yun texture to the Jin texture, will not work. 😰

On top of that, I also found that the upper back of the body has discontinuity with a hole on each side. 😧 Because of this, the bikini top mod on the Gon and Yun cannot be duplicated onto the Jin's version directly.

As such, even though it is still consider a simple mod, it still has to be done from scratch. And so, we will only have one outfit in this week's post and video.

But before we dive into the mod, let's take a look at the original outfit below.

Front View - Original Outfit

Front Close-up View - Original Outfit
In the front close-up view, you may have noticed that the underboobs are actually flat below. This is due to the thick layer of cloth that is wrapped around the abdomen, pushing up from below.

Rear View - Original Outfit

Rear Close-up View - Original Outfit

Side View - Original Outfit

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
The flat underboobs can be better seen from the side. 😦

Other than the flat underboobs, most of the outfit look very similar to the Gon's and Yun's.

As mentioned earlier, there are two issues to overcome in the Jin's version. Firstly, the holes at the back and secondly the flat underboobs.

The holes affect what I can do for the top garment since I cannot make it into the bikini top like in the case of Gon and Yun.

The flat underboobs, on the other hand, prevents me from trimming the thick cloth layer in order to reveal the upper abdomen. That is because, the flatness would look unnatural if nothing is supporting it from below. However, this issue can be easily overcome by... well, doing nothing. 😛

So that leaves the top garment issue. Let's look at the mod below and see what I did instead.

Front View - Modified Outfit
The very long front cloth has been removed as seen above.

Front Close-up View 1 - Modified Outfit
It may not be obvious from a distance, but I have modified the top garment into a netting layer. But of course, I still hide the important area. 😅

See below to get a better view of the modified top garment.

Front Close-up View 2 - Modified Outfit
See the netting yet? No? Check the even closer view below. 😅

Front Close-up View 3 - Modified Outfit
I have added some an uneven round surface, on the center portion, because it was too plain.

But the thick cloth layer was not trimmed due to the flat underboobs.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
The long layered tail cloth has been removed as seen in the image above.

Rear Close-up View 1 - Modified Outfit
Since the top garment has been modified into a netting, including the back, the two holes mentioned earlier in the post can be seen through the semi-transparent cloth.

As such, I have to add two logo at the back to hide the two holes. The image below provides a better view of the logo.

Rear Close-up View 2 - Modified Outfit

Side View - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View 1 - Modified Outfit

Side Close-up View 2 - Modified Outfit
If you still can't see the semi-transparent top garment clearly, maybe this image on top gives a better alternative view? 😆

With this, I can finally wrap up the Nirvana series.

Blade & Soul - Spellbinder (Gon Outfit) Mod

We have officially entered the second week of the new year but I still feel the drag effect from the end of 2018. I hope everything is starting out smoothly for all of you though. 😆

Anyway, finishing up on the Spellbinder series, we will have the Gon Spellbinder mod in this week's post. As seen in the previous two posts, the Jin and Yun Spellbinders look exactly the same, and that also applies to the Gon version.

Since everything about this outfit has been talked about in the previous two posts, let's dive straight into the mod itself.

As a recap of what the Gon Spellbinder looks like or how similar it is to the other two races' versions, take a look below.

Side Close-up View - Original Outfit
As you can see above, the Gon outfit is exactly the same as that of the Jin and Yun.

Similarly, for the mod, the goal is the same - shorten the tails and remove the fishnet stockings. However, I tried a different design for the trimmed tail. Instead of ending the bat wings to two sides of the hips, I make it end in the middle. In this way, the waist line will not be obscured when looking from the back.

Take a look at the mod version below and see which tail design you prefer.

Front View - Modified Outfit

The pair of fishnet stockings have been removed.

Rear View - Modified Outfit
And the swallow tail has been trimmed.

Rear Close-up View - Modified Outfit
But the end is at the middle of the back instead of the sides. This design gives a better view of the waist line from the back. 😆

But it also clearly reveals the separation between the shirt and the bottom piece.

Side Close-up View - Modified Outfit
I have combined the Jin, Gon and Yun Spellbinder into one image for comparison below.

Jin                                   Gon                                 Yun
After comparing the two types of tail design, which one do you prefer? 😅

Well, that wraps up the Gon Spellbinder but since it is a simple mod, I have also included the Gon Nirvana mod in this week's video.

I have made the Gon Nirvana mod exactly the same as the Yun's. You can take a look at the before and after image just below.

Also, don't forget to check the video below for both outfit mods. 😄
